Check out Anthony Lister’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Lister.

Anthony, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Grew up on the dirt roads of BRISBANE Australia where I learned to paint with the blood of dead road kill kangaroos.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Essentially, I am a story teller, a myth bearer, a holder of problems and a striker of solution. Mainly focused within the realm of contemporary mythology my work deals with topics like ‘misguided roll models’, misguiding role models and the product of this. I paint about what I know about and what I find interesting to investigate.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
Well to be honest- New York feels softer than it used to. Los Angeles appears confused. Paris, Hong Kong, Milan, Australia… it’s all a bit boring these days I’m afraid to say. Some cities excite me although the ones I just stated used to excite me the most.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
A google search will show you my work. A further click to my website will explain my work- www.anthonylister.com
