Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Alvarado.
Hi Ana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was still in college when I decided to design my very first T-shirt design y to support Honduras national soccer team. During that time, I met my now husband and we decided to invest in order to start our business. We decided to buy all the machinery necessary so we could do our own T-shirts and expand the line… from there, it took off!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Any a small business owner knows that there’s good days and also bad days. For the most part, we’ve been very stable because we are not big spenders so even when we were doing too well with sales, our lifestyle wasn’t affected because we’ve always been very conscious of our spending.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a digital content creator under the name of Lipstickfables. I was born in Honduras but came to the US when I was 11 years old. My videos focus on my Honduran culture and relatable situations that we live on the daily but the message is conveyed with humor. I’ve achieved so many goals professionally and also personally but overall, just to be a Honduran representation in the LatinX community in the US is a big deal since we don’t see that too often. I always try to bring light to what’s going on in Central America and remind people that we exist! We’re commonly forgotten but that’s why my content always has that Honduran spice!
What makes you happy?
Just having a stable life makes me happy. I’m grateful because I married my best friend and also my business partner. Together, we’ve built so much along the years and so far, the whole journey has been great. I’m happy my parents and sister support what I do and they’ve also being part of my success. Overall I’m extremely happy with the way I’m living my life even though I still got so many goals I want to achieve!
