Check Out Amber Jordan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Jordan.

Amber, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story starts off as a single mother of three little ones who just leaned into her hobby (about nine years ago). I am a photographer and never thought enough of my skillset to start my own business. However, friends and family would basically insist on giving me money for what I would create for them and that was ever-lasting memories caught on camera! With time, my business started to bloom and grow. I never could imagine that my little camera “that could” would bring me to the place I am today. I am now being asked weekly to mentor or “help” businesses start or grow. It’s a huge compliment and blessing to me to be able to consult and work among small businesses in our community! I currently am a 7.5 years business owner, I love to capture Weddings, growing families and all beauty (especially in nature). I brought on my husband as my partner and we invested into a 1963 Sante Fe Vintage trailer about three years ago and we incorporated it into our event packages as a “photo booth”. Last year, during the pandemic I had to pivot in my business and with the networking/marketing and advertising experience I have learned and incorporated into my daily regimen with my businesses, I decided to not only teach it to other small businesses who needed it during quarantine or because they were shut down, but I offered my services to LITERALLY take over socials and create great strategies to either keep them visible or help them become visible to their preferred clientele!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My road has many bumps and turns, but I take each of those as challenges. I have been in a point where I was on my knees asking the universe for guidance when everything seemed so bleak (more towards the middle of building my business). As a single mom, a 2nd and 3rd income can become a necessity and when you are the only parent who has to focus on family; that’s such a huge challenge! I knew I couldn’t be everywhere I needed to be at once, but I am a true believer that ONLY moving forward is the way to go. There were times I couldn’t make rent, buy groceries and pay utilities… those were the obstacles that seem so easy to overcome that stood in my way. I crushed those, I honestly did but along came other local photographers who had made it their goal (so it seemed) to really try and crush my spirit or slander my name. We know the power of a referral but it goes also the opposite way, however I have overcome and trusted in my passion, in my vision and in my support group. My business has consistently become such a blessing financially. I used to pray for the things I have now… I really feel blessed and I am meant for bigger better things to come and I will make those happen!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am absolutely known for my photography and my networking skills! I have this knack for bringing the right people together, for helping businesses in my community, for meeting people just because I think it’s fun, and above all I love capturing it all on my camera and sharing it with the world. I have always loved the art of digital photography and last year, I really dug deep because I wanted to incorporate my passion for networking, small business ONLINE growth and a smidge of branding. I actively started another leg of my business that seems to be booming during the pandemic and that is social media management, social media strategist and I add a little bit of “spice” by creating content and offering branding shoots to those that are closer to me and not just an “Online” remote client (although I would love to eventually add that service to those who reside in other states or countries because I love to travel)! I think that just being super authentic and transparent sets me apart from others. I don’t have to be picture perfect, I don’t have to ONLY post the trending images that get more viewers and I don’t niche down so small that I can incorporate what other things I am truly good at and that is helping small business GET VISIBLE and grow! I am very proud of that skill, I am very proud of me for coming this far…

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
The definition of success for me is owning a cabin off the grid outright on many acres of land where I can unplug, rest and discover more of nature. Also, leaving a legacy and business behind for my grown children! I mean, I’d love to be a millionaire, but these small life tokens are very large to me because they offer serenity and peace in a world that thrives on chaos, hustle and business.
