Art & Life with Randy De Leon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy De Leon.

Randy used to be known by another name. His former street name is unimportant as it represents the life he used to lead, hanging around with a Los Angeles tagging crews, slipping out at night to cover the streets with his art, getting guns pulled on him by gang members or shop owners, searched by police, falling off roofs, all in pursuit of the only way he knew to develop his signature street art. As his path got darker and darker he found his wake up call when he was hauled off to jail. It created his artist epiphany, a new identity as he realized there needed to be more to life, another way to survive and create.

In 2004, graduated with a degree in Communication Arts. Few years later started a company called: “Real Simple Prints” with his partner (brother). Serving all Los Angeles area and Nationwide.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I normally do commission illustrations and graphic design services. I love my career. I own a printing company with my brother called: “Real Simple Prints” (www.realsimpleprints.com). What inspires me every day is knowing that every client is a blessing. Working with different level of the company is an awesome experience that I enjoy. (God is good).

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success as an artist, for me, is when I see my work on different ads from print to digital.

Helping companies with their vision. Expressing myself through someone’s vision, from a product or a service (designs or illustrations).
