Meet John Bronson and Femke Veelenturf

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Bronson and Femke Veelenturf.

A few years ago, former NFL player John Bronson, met his Dutch girlfriend Femke Veelenturf on vacation. One of their first dates, Femke gave John a traditional Dutch food package with stroopwafels in it.

“Femke, let me try a stroopwafel for the first time and I tasted this delicious caramel waffle cookie and I immediately fell in love with the Dutch Stroopwafels and with Femke,” said John Bronson.

Finger Licking Dutch was born. Femke’s dream was to start her own stroopwafel stand but when she met John, a business entrepreneur. He had bigger plans to make stroopwafels readily available to the U.S.A John decided to bring this Dutch delicacy to the United States, and Finger Licking Dutch Stroopwafels was born.

After a lot of taste testing in the United States, Femke & John came to the conclusion that the only real Stroopwafel can be made in the Netherlands.

Can you give our readers some background on your business?
Finger Licking Dutch brings Dutch stroopwafels to the USA. Our stroopwafels (caramel waffle cookies) are the best tasting, best quality and most authentic stroopwafels you can get in the States.

They are available in a lot of coffee shops and bike shops in and around L.A. Tuesday, October 8th, we just had our first live appearance live on HSN (Home Shopping Network). Our next HSN airing with John Bronson will be on next Monday October 21, at 5:00pm EST

Why?
We thought there were not enough real Dutch stroopwafels readily available in the USA.

Message:
Spread the Stroopwafel Love.
Our Stroopwafel is created by love, made with love.

Please tell us more about Stroopwafels.
The Coffee- Cookie experience. Stroopwafels are great straight out of the package, but if you want the real experience: Place your stroopwafel on top of your hot drink (like a lid), leave it there for a minute or two. The steam will heat the cookie and will melt the caramel in the middle. After it’s warm, gooey and crispy… take a bite.

If you’ve ever traveled to Holland, this will bring back some great memories. If you haven’t, we’ve brought the delicious Holland treats to you!

What else should we know?
The Stroopwafel was invented 200 years ago in Gouda (which you probably know from the cheese). We use only premium EU organic certified ingredients, which sets the standard in the taste of our stroopwafels.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing entrepreneurs today?
The biggest challenge for entrepreneurs is to understand their market. Femke grew up with Stroopwafels, knows all these different ways how to enjoy your stroopwafel and has a lot of great connects in the Netherlands. John understands the American market, which is totally different than the Dutch.

Best of both worlds came together, created Finger Licking Dutch. This makes us a power couple.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
