We’re looking forward to introducing you to Peter Joseph. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Peter, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely, I would hire me. I’ve built my career on delivering results, supporting my team, and making a real difference in people’s lives. As the owner of Joseph Insurance Broker LLC — and proudly known in the community as the “Medicare Master” — I’ve earned a reputation for showing up with integrity, expertise, and a passion for helping seniors navigate something as important as their healthcare.
I don’t shy away from responsibility. I lead from the front — training agents, advocating for clients, and constantly improving the quality of service we provide. My drive pushes me to set the bar high for myself and those around me.
I’ll be the first to admit, I like to take on a lot. But that comes from a deep commitment to my clients and my team. I’m always learning, evolving, and finding new ways to innovate in an industry that truly changes lives.
So yes — if I were hiring based on character, leadership, and impact, I’d hire me every single time. I have a servant’s heart and a desire to serve people and make people’s lives better as well.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Peter Joseph, owner of Joseph Insurance Broker LLC — better known as the Medicare Master here in Southern California. I lead a fast-growing, family-focused Medicare brokerage based in Chino, where our mission is simple: provide seniors with honest guidance and real care as they navigate their healthcare options. My parents emigrated from Egypt in 1968 to make a better life for their children, and that instilled me a motivation to do great things.
What truly makes our brand special is the heart behind it — and for me, that starts with family. I’m a proud husband to my wife Bonnie, and a devoted dad to our two amazing kids: Julia Grace, a high-achieving leader at Chino Hills High School who dreams of working in mental health, and Noah Liam, a long-time Little League baseball player who brings energy into everything he does and wants to be a coder and future You Tuber. They are a big part of why I do what I do — they inspire the way I serve families in our community.
We’re growing rapidly as an agency — expanding partnerships with local doctors, training more licensed agents, and increasing our presence throughout Southern California. We host Medicare 101 workshops, support local senior centers, and stay involved in community events because we believe healthcare should feel local, personal, and trustworthy.
And a fun fact? When I’m not helping seniors or coaching agents, you’ll probably find me cheering on the Lakers, Dodgers, or Rams — we’re a big sports family and love spending time at live games together.
At Joseph Insurance Broker LLC, our motto is: We Medi Care — with Care. We’re not just in the insurance business. We’re in the people business. And we’re just getting started.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I’ve been blessed with several people who shaped my work ethic and my purpose.
First and foremost, my wife Bonnie has taught me the most about work. She sees the real grind — the long days, the pressure, and the passion. She reminds me that success isn’t just about achievement but about how you care for people along the way. Her belief in me pushes me to show up as a better leader, a better father, and a better servant to my clients.
My kids, Julia and Noah, have also been unexpected teachers. Their curiosity, their resilience, and the pride in their eyes remind me why I push so hard. They inspire me to build something meaningful that strengthens our community and creates a legacy they can be proud of.
In my youth, my pastor Bill Staffieri played a major role in instilling character, faith, and a strong moral compass in everything I do. He taught me that work matters most when it lifts others up.
And in my professional life, my mentor Christian Brindle has influenced me tremendously. He helped shape my understanding of this industry and showed me how to grow a business while staying committed to doing what’s right for seniors and their families.
So while my journey has included many teachers, the greatest lessons come from the people who truly know me — my family, my faith leaders, and those who invested in my professional growth. They are the reason I work with purpose every single day.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. Anyone who builds something from scratch knows there are moments when the weight feels overwhelming. For me, that moment came early in my insurance career — before my agency really took off. I was working long hours, facing rejection, and questioning whether I was truly making an impact. It felt like I was pouring everything in and not seeing enough come back.
Honestly, if I haven’t gone through the turmoil and tribulations of my 24 years of the non profit sector, then I wouldn’t have been a success story today. Facing up against the hypocrisy, moving my family from city to city due to not having the right fit, and still leaving behind successful organizations I built up made me resilient.
What kept me from giving up was the realization that the work I do matters whether it was in the non profit sector or in this new insurance endeavor. Seniors rely on someone they can trust to guide them through healthcare decisions that affect their lives and financial security. I couldn’t walk away from that responsibility.
But even more powerful than that purpose was my family. Bonnie reminded me why I started — to create a future for us, and to show Julia and Noah that perseverance pays off. I wanted them to see that adversity isn’t a stop sign — it’s a proving ground.
So yes, I’ve had moments where giving up seemed easier. But I learned that the breakthrough often comes right after the breakdown. That’s when I doubled down, built the Medicare Master brand, and committed to serving my community with heart and hustle.
Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t quit — because the best chapters of my story were waiting on the other side of that doubt.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One foundational truth for me is that people deserve to be treated with dignity, no matter their age, background, or circumstances. That belief drives the way I serve seniors, the way I lead agents, and the way I raise my kids. It’s so woven into who I am that I don’t always say it out loud — I just try to live it.
Another truth is that family is the real measure of success. Titles, awards, business growth — all of that means nothing if I’m not being the husband my wife Bonnie deserves or the father Julia and Noah can look up to. The love and support within our home is the fuel for everything I do outside of it.
And finally, I believe that God has a purpose for every season, even the difficult ones. Faith has carried me through the challenges of building a business from the ground up. It’s the quiet voice reminding me that serving others is more than a career — it’s a calling.
These aren’t truths I post on my wall or say every day. But they shape every decision I make: care for people, honor your family, and trust the greater plan.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Absolutely — and honestly, I still feel that way today. There’s something incredibly energizing about knowing that the work I do directly improves someone’s life. When a senior tells me they finally feel understood… when a family saves money they didn’t even realize they were overpaying… when an agent I trained finds their confidence and starts changing lives — those are tap-dancing moments.
But if I think about the first time I felt that level of excitement, it was when the Medicare Master brand truly started taking off. I remember waking up before my alarm, excited to make calls, meet clients, and build a reputation rooted in trust and service. For the first time, I wasn’t just building a career — I was building a mission.
The excitement has evolved over time. Today, I get that same spark when I’m leading community events, visiting senior centers, or watching my agents thrive. It’s the kind of enthusiasm that comes from knowing you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, doing work that matters.
So yes — I’m tap dancing to work. Because when you love your community, you love the calling that allows you to serve it.
