An Inspired Chat with Destiny Muse of Downtown

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Destiny Muse. Check out our conversation below.

Destiny, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building is the part no one sees—the inner architecture that everything else rests on.
The patience, the discernment, the unshakable relationship with my own soul.

Before I could bridge the worlds of business and creativity, I had to bridge the worlds inside of me—learning to hold vision and responsibility without losing my softness, to let prayer and presence guide the strategy, to move at a pace my spirit could sustain.

Every system, every collaboration, every event under POWEREDBYMUSE is born out of that inner work. The more I tend to it, the more integrity and alignment I can pour into what I build for others. That’s the part you’ll never see on a flyer or a balance sheet, but it’s the quiet reason everything stands.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Destiny Muse, the founder of POWEREDBYMUSE—a creative agency and ecosystem built for visionaries who refuse to choose between their art, their wellbeing, and their ability to thrive.

My work lives at the intersection of soul and strategy. I design spaces, systems, and stages that honor the heart of creative work while building the infrastructure for it to be sustainable, scalable, and deeply fulfilling.

What makes POWEREDBYMUSE unique is that it’s not just a service—it’s a movement. From intimate mastermind-style gatherings like the High Society Club, to large-scale festivals, to our By Design incubator, every project is a living example of what’s possible when you refuse to compromise your vision.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding these offerings and continuing to bridge the gap between the money-driven world of business and the heart-led world of artistry—proving every day that both can coexist without losing their integrity.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that believed I had to constantly prove my value.

For years, I carried this quiet urgency to be “worth” the rooms I was in—overdelivering, overextending, overexplaining. It served me in a way; it built my skillset, sharpened my discernment, and taught me how to hold big visions. But it also kept me tethered to other people’s approval instead of my own alignment.

Now, I’m releasing the proving. I’m rooted enough in my own authority to let my work, my energy, and my presence speak for themselves. What’s replacing it is trust—trust in my timing, in my preparation, and in the spaces I’m called to fill.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to be with myself in the dark.
It showed me the kind of resilience that isn’t about pushing through, but about softening into the truth of where you are.

Success can affirm you, but suffering refines you. It strips away illusions, forces you to listen deeper, and teaches you to lead from a place that isn’t dependent on applause or momentum.

Through suffering, I learned presence, discernment, and the art of moving slow without losing my power. It gave me the inner stability that now allows me to hold success without being consumed by it.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
A lot of smart people still believe they can think their way into alignment.

They build strategies, make spreadsheets, run projections—but they skip the inner work that determines whether any of it will actually hold. They treat pace, presence, and nervous system capacity like optional luxuries instead of the foundation.

The truth is, brilliance without embodiment will burn you out. If you want your ideas to last, you have to design for the human holding them—not just the market receiving them.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think some people will assume my legacy is about the events, the programs, or the projects I’ve built.

What they might miss is that those were just the vessels. The real legacy is in the way I chose to build them—slow enough to stay aligned, brave enough to bridge worlds that don’t usually meet, intentional enough to keep soul and strategy in the same room.

The work itself will evolve, but the throughline is that I built without abandoning myself. That’s what I hope those who really look will understand.
