Meet One of LA’s Most Impressive Makeup Artists: Lauren Wilde

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Wilde.

Lauren went to college to become an opera singer, but she was singing in Italy one summer when the makeup artist needed help and so she assisted her and the experience led to her realization that she enjoyed makeup so much more than performing. From there she dived into the world of makeup, learned various styles and began perfecting her craft.  She knew she wanted to do creative things and so she explored film, creature design, and prosthetics and grew into an award-winning makeup artist.

In speaking with her we were blown away by her courage to take on seemingly impossible projects and through sheer determination, skill and intellect transform the impossible into reality.  She loves collaboration opportunities to work on things that are strange, unique, weird, or seemingly too hard to execute on – she thrives on the challenge and consistently delivers.  She is one of the best examples of LA’s incredibly talented, unique and diverse talent pool – where else can you find someone like Lauren?

Highlights:

  • Received her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Wig and Makeup Design where she spent three years learning and mastering so many specific talents like wig making, sculpting and mold making, proper set etiquette for a makeup artist and more
  • In 2013 she was the recipient of the National Makeup Design Award by Kryolan and had the opportunity to showcase her work internationally.

We love Lauren because every part of her story blows us away and her work is even more breathtaking.  Check out her some of her work below:
