Chef Keven Lee, affectionately known as “Cheven,” embarked on a journey that began with a bold move to Las Vegas at a young age, diving headfirst into the high-energy world of top-tier restaurant and hotel operations. Driven by a passion for culinary excellence, Cheven honed his skills in the bustling hospitality scene of Las Vegas, where he gained invaluable experience and insights. His desire to master his craft led him to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he graduated with a prestigious degree that solidified his foundation in the culinary arts. However, Cheven’s pursuit of culinary perfection didn’t stop there; he continued his studies in Switzerland, earning a specialized European Chocolate and Pastry Arts degree. This international exposure enriched his style, allowing him to infuse his creations with a blend of classical techniques and global inspiration.

With this impressive foundation, Cheven made his way to Hollywood, where his talent and innovative approach quickly garnered attention. He became the corporate executive chef for a prominent restaurant and nightclub group, blending culinary artistry with the vibrant, fast-paced atmosphere of Los Angeles nightlife. In 2009, Cheven ventured out on his own, establishing CKL Events—a catering business renowned for its high-end, imaginative culinary displays. Now, 15 years later, he continues to thrive with his distinct brands, including Vibe Caviar, Thrive Coffee, and his own line of extra-virgin olive oil, “Final Touch by Cheven.” These brands showcase his commitment to quality, creativity, and sophistication, embodying the unique flair that has made Cheven a celebrated figure in the culinary world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For Cheven, the journey has been far from smooth, as the highs and lows of the culinary world and the broader industry have constantly tested his resilience. Like many visionaries in the field, he has faced challenges—from economic downturns affecting client budgets to the relentless demands of staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. Yet, through persistence, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to his craft, Cheven has navigated each obstacle with determination. Every setback has fueled his drive, each hurdle a lesson that shaped his approach, making him more adaptable and innovative. These experiences only strengthened his foundation, enabling him to overcome the toughest trials and continue forging a path that aligns with his unique vision.

By remaining consistent in his standards of excellence and unyielding in his pursuit of quality, Cheven has cultivated a reputation for reliability and creativity that keeps his clients coming back. What matters most to you? Why?
My children are the heart of everything I do and the inspiration behind my relentless pursuit of success and excellence. They remind me daily of what truly matters, grounding me with a sense of purpose that goes beyond my work. I strive to set an example for them through hard work, integrity, and resilience, showing them the importance of following their passions and staying true to themselves. My journey, my brands, and all that I create are, in many ways, a legacy I hope to leave for them—a testament to the power of dedication and the joy of pursuing what you love. They motivate me to push boundaries and continue growing, not only as a chef and entrepreneur but as a parent who hopes to pass on a world of opportunity and inspiration to them.
