Community Highlights: Meet Gabriela Mc’cree of SLK Skincare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Mc’cree

Hi Gabriela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I came from Lithuania with my masters degree in biology and biochemistry (won green card lottery) to San Francisco. Went to esthetician school there, then taught at esthetic institute, worked as educator for a few skincare lines and then opened my own skincare boutique and spa called Primadona in pacific heights (for almost 10 years). Went back to college and got my registered nurse degree – worked at acute hospitals, plastic surgery and upon moving to Los Angeles worked at dermatology cedar Sinai for 5 years as RN. Left the unit to open my own medical skincare office in January of 2021. Presently offering medical grade facials and laser hair removal, more procedures are in developing stage.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Language barrier was the biggest – I moved to San Francisco not speaking any English

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about SLK Skincare?
My strength is in extended knowledge in skincare, stemming from background in biology, esthetics and medical field, and being hands on for over 28 years, also being entrepreneur (this is my third business)
I work with many dermatologists, providing their patients with medical degree facials, consultations regarding home regiment ect – our collaboration proven to be a pure success
I create a very personalized and trusty environment for the client to feel them right at home

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I always preached that when your job is your hobby you don’t feel like you work and that’s exactly how I feel about my business – I love doing what I’m doing!
And when I see amazing results I feel I’m doing something great!
Also, I’m very happily married – he (Reggie) is a wall behind me
And, we have a cat (name Myliu, means I love in Lithuanian:), who is a fur ball of love:)
