Hi Hector, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As a little boy, I always loved earning money because it gave me opportunities. At 9 years old, I became a paperboy, and by 10, I worked at a printing press making minimum wage. I transitioned through various jobs until I fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a police officer a reality. However, I soon realized that the reality of being a street cop was different from what I had learned from movies. I left that profession and began my real estate journey, starting as a broker’s assistant and advancing to a buyer’s agent, listing agent, broker owner, and flipper. Eventually, I pivoted to become a savvy and sophisticated investor, building my own real estate and investment firm with an in-house management and maintenance company that exclusively services my portfolio. This structure has been a game changer, allowing me to semi-retire and live my dream lifestyle in Cabo while still maintaining my business in Los Angeles.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business from the ground up with very little money and no experience feels like a scary rollercoaster ride with many ups, downs, and turns. However, by hiring vetted mentors, reading books, and listening to audio programs, the journey to creating wealth and living my dream lifestyle became much smoother.

HP Capital Investments, Inc. is a family owned & operated Real Estate Acquisition & Investment firm with 50 years of experience.

I am a 4th generation real estate investor and is the president of the family firm.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Real estate is a need, NOT a want. Everyone needs a place to live, work, play, and eventually, to die, all of which involve real estate. Naturally, you must invest in the right markets using strategic leverage. Furthermore, when you invest correctly and in the right market, your rental income and the value of your holdings will double every 7-10 years. I also see a trend of people utilizing more affordable and convenient office suites, as well as micro units and residential micro units.
