Conversations with Zaira Zuniga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zaira Zuniga

Hi Zaira, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello , my name is Zaira Zuniga Bridal hair and makeup artist wife and mom of 3 I started in the beauty industry in 2015 , trying to find the balance between work and motherhood , I’ve always loved makeup and all beauty things since I was a little girl always doing makeup on my friends at school braiding hair giving them makeup tips etc , fast forward to 2014 when I was doing makeup for “ fun”, my husband had the brilliant idea to sign me up for my first makeup course (I’m beyond thankful for pushing me to do it ) .
I wasn’t to sure about that idea I was already a mom of 3 so I wasn’t planning to divert my attention to something else, but I went with it and here I am now 9 years later doing something I love to do that truly makes me happy and gives me the freedom to enjoy my kids and family.
I take pride of my work I love what I do I appreciate every single one of my clients and I keep everyone in my heart .

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No! It has not been a smooth road for me , the struggles come from many places , when I started my freelancing journey in 2015 I was not driving I had to Uber or take the bus to my clients with all my equipment , at that time social media was starting to become the biggest platform for freelancers and that road wasn’t an easy one not knowing how to create engagement how to attract possible clients And just navigating through it by my self it was very difficult.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am Bridal makeup and hair artist , although Bridal is my niche I’m not exclusively in bridal makeup I also work with quinceañeras which is a big thing in my Mexican culture and that’s something I’m very proud of . I love to connect with people I love when I get the feedback and they talk in how much easier I made process for them
When I’m able to help the most I can makeup and not makeup related the connection with my clients and the relationship I develop with them is something I’m very proud of I have very good friends that i met as my clients and we became good friends through the years .
I’m very proud of the artist I am I truly care about my clients I love going the extra mile even if sometimes it goes unappreciated I never expect a thank you or anything in return I always do it from my heart .

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Don’t believe everything you think by joshep Nguyen it helped me to develop thick skin because beauty industry can be really draining and have so many negative aspects.
