Today we’d like to introduce you to Parashakti Skye
Hi Parashakti, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.
I started my dance journey at the age of four, with a clear goal of becoming a professional dancer by the time I was seven. My passion led me to study at performing arts schools in both Israel and the U.S. After serving in the Israeli army, I moved to the U.S. to pursue my career in dance.
A serious injury, however, shifted my path. It forced me to rethink my future and explore new ways to channel my love for movement. This led me to immerse myself in yoga and other healing modalities. Over time, I developed Dance of Liberation®, a movement practice based on seven principles that encourages self-exploration and personal growth.
Five years ago, I expanded my creative vision by founding Winged Ones®, a sacred fine jewelry and lifestyle brand. Each piece is inspired by the Eagle, symbolizing strength, vision, and freedom. The brand’s goal is to empower individuals to realize their potential through meaningful, beautifully crafted designs.
Today, I lead workshops and retreats globally, while continuing to collaborate with talented designers to create visionary jewelry and apparel that reflect the power of movement and transformation.
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has certainly had its challenges, as any meaningful journey does. From overcoming dance injuries to navigating personal hardships like divorce and the complexities of living in a country impacted by conflict, each obstacle shaped my resilience. Watching my mother face early-stage dementia was especially difficult, and these experiences deepened my commitment to the healing arts.
What has carried me through these moments is a dedication to service and a belief in the power of Ritual and Dance as tools for healing and transformation. These practices have been my anchors, allowing me to lead and grow a global brand collective while staying true to my purpose. Challenges have become stepping stones that have not only shaped me as a founder, and also strengthened the connection between the work I do and the communities I serve.
We’d love to learn more about your work. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
My work centers around facilitating transformative experiences through the movement modality I created, Dance of Liberation® and the designer brand, Winged Ones®. Dance of Liberation® is a form of movement therapy that focuses on interoception—inviting participants to turn inward and listen to their bodies. Unlike other modalities such as yoga, this practice helps people connect with their own ability to heal, whether they are experienced dancers or stepping onto the dance floor for the first time. It’s about using movement as medicine, which is why it’s becoming an increasingly sought-after form of somatic therapy.
In addition to this, I’ve developed the Winged Ones® jewelry collections. With the intention of awakening the best in the human Spirit, the Eagle is a powerful symbol of freedom, vision, and strength, and serves as the inspiration behind many of our Winged Ones® jewelry designs. Each piece channels the majestic essence of this sacred creature, combining transformational and healing gemstones with precious metals. Our adornments are crafted to nurture vitality and harmonize the mind, body, earth, and Spirit connection, offering wearers both beauty and a profound sense of empowerment.
I’ve had the privilege of bringing this work to five-star wellness resorts like Rythmia Life Advancement Center, where Dance of Liberation® is integrated into the overall wellness experience. It’s incredibly rewarding to see people undergo profound transformations, whether it’s through movement or by carrying the wisdom of the Winged Ones® with them as a reminder of their journey. Currently, I’m focused on expanding the reach of both Dance of Liberation® and Winged Ones® internationally, offering these experiences in more wellness resorts, studios, and retreats around the world.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the opportunity to offer profound healing and life-changing experiences through Dance of Liberation®. It’s deeply fulfilling to see the way this movement modality helps people connect with themselves, heal, and transform their lives. Facilitating these experiences, whether at a wellness retreat or in a workshop, reminds me why I’m so grateful for this work.
Another achievement I hold dear is creating the documentary Dance of Liberation. This project took over 10 years to complete and was a true labor of love, produced alongside an exceptional team. The film premiered at prestigious festivals like Albuquerque and Sedona, and was later invited to screen at the Spirit Film Festival in Tel Aviv. The documentary captures my personal journey from a lost, struggling young woman to becoming a healer through dance. It explores the process of healing my own deepest wounds, and how this path ultimately gave birth to Dance of Liberation®, which is now a global movement helping others do the same.
For me, the most meaningful part of my journey has been evolving Dance of Liberation® into a global brand collective that includes both the movement therapy experience and Winged Ones® sacred fine jewelry. Combining movement with sacred healing adornments has allowed me to offer something truly unique—empowering others not just through physical movement, and with tangible symbols of transformation they can carry with them every day.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The COVID-19 crisis taught me invaluable lessons about the significance of community and the urgent need for healing, particularly after prolonged isolation. While many transitioned to online platforms, I experienced the unique power of in-person interactions when I returned to places like Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica as restrictions eased. Reuniting people in wellness resorts felt more crucial than ever, as the longing for connection and profound healing had intensified.
As a leader in the healing arts, I was deeply inspired by this renewed call to serve. The pandemic heightened people’s yearning for community and transformative experiences, reaffirming my dedication to offering healing through Dance of Liberation® and Winged Ones® jewelry. This global brand collective blends movement therapy with symbolic tools of vitality and empowerment—elements that seem more essential now in the journey toward healing.
What I’ve come to realize is that our work transcends individual healing; it is about nurturing collective well-being. The experience of isolation underscored the critical importance of coming together. My mission is now focused on expanding these healing modalities to more wellness resorts and studios worldwide, fostering deeper connections and broader access to transformation.
