Today we’d like to introduce you to Roma Bhatt
Hi Roma, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Roma Bhatt, the heart and soul behind ItsRomaB, where I merge my love for plant-based living with my expertise as a content creator and influencer. My journey is rooted in a deep passion for food, travel, sustainability, and overall well-being. Through my platform, I aim to inspire others to enhance their mental and physical health by embracing the joy of plant-based cuisine, the adventure of travel, and the importance of caring for ourselves and our environment.
My content spans across plant-based menus, recipes, consumer packaged goods (CPGs), events, and travel experiences. But my journey didn’t start here. Before becoming a full-time content creator, I spent seven years as a strategy consultant. My academic path began at Rutgers University and led me to the University of Southern California, where I majored in finance. Born and raised in New Jersey, I eventually moved to Los Angeles after college, joining Ernst & Young as a consultant. After four years, I transitioned into digital transformation consulting, and later into sustainability consulting, focusing on carbon footprint calculations and eco-friendly recommendations.
During this time, I gradually found myself gravitating toward the work I’m truly passionate about, while also nurturing my growing social media presence. Cooking has always been a central part of my life—I’m a lifelong foodie who loves showing others how delicious plant-based meals can be. Supporting small businesses and local restaurants is another passion of mine. Hearing from restaurant owners that my posts brought in a wave of new customers brings me immense joy. Recently, when my favorite plant-based sushi spot announced it was closing, I reached out to the chef, a friend of mine, and together we organized a sushi-making class. The tickets sold out in less than 24 hours—a testament to the power of community and collaboration.
In addition to my content creation work, I’ve also started two e-commerce businesses in my early 20s. Entrepreneurship is in my blood, and I’m driven by a desire to help others, whether it’s through sharing a delicious recipe, promoting a local business, or encouraging sustainable living.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been anything but smooth, but those challenges have shaped who I am today. Transitioning from a stable career in strategy consulting to becoming a full-time content creator was a huge leap of faith. Leaving behind the security of a corporate job, especially in a field like finance where I had invested years of education and experience, was daunting. There were moments of self-doubt, particularly when it came to building a brand from the ground up and ensuring that my passion could also be a sustainable livelihood.
Another significant challenge was moving to California. I relocated without knowing anyone, with my family across the country in New Jersey. It was tough to start fresh in a new place, but I was determined to build a life here on my own. Over time, I established a network, found my community, and created a home that I’m proud of.
Despite these challenges, I’ve learned resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to my passion. Every setback has taught me valuable lessons and brought me closer to where I want to be, both personally and professionally.

My work revolves around creating and sharing content that inspires others to embrace a plant-based lifestyle while also promoting health, wellness, and sustainability. As the founder of ItsRomaB, I specialize in curating plant-based menus, developing delicious recipes, reviewing consumer packaged goods (CPGs), and sharing my travel experiences, all with a focus on sustainability and well-being. My platform is a space where I combine my love for food, travel, and community with a deep commitment to making a positive impact on both people and the planet and the animals of course.
What truly sets me apart is my background. I bring a unique blend of business acumen and creative passion to everything I do. My 7 years in strategy consulting taught me how to think critically, solve problems, and manage complex projects—skills that have been invaluable as I’ve built my brand and business from the ground up. Combining this with my passion for food, travel, and sustainability allows me to create content that’s not only engaging but also purposeful and impactful.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has definitely played a role in my life and business, both in positive and challenging ways. I believe that luck is a combination of being in the right place at the right time and being prepared to seize the opportunities that come your way.
In terms of good luck, I’ve been fortunate to connect with some incredible people who have supported and inspired me along the way. Whether it was a chance meeting with someone who became a mentor or a random opportunity that opened new doors, these moments of serendipity have had a significant impact on my journey. For example, my transition from strategy consulting to content creation was influenced by the people I met who encouraged me to pursue my passion. Having the right connections and support at crucial times has been a form of good luck that I’m deeply grateful for.
I became friends with neighbors who were creators who showed me this could be a path as well.
