Today we’d like to introduce you to Miller Mccoy
Hi Miller, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Miller McCoy’s story is one of resilience, creativity, and grind.
His roots began far from the LA scene in West Des Moines, Iowa, where McCoy’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited at a remarkably young age. As a child, McCoy showed promise as a captivating magician, dazzling audiences at local venues and building a strong community following. His trailblazing mindset and style quickly laid the foundation for a remarkable journey of self-discovery and success.
As McCoy entered his teenage years, his entrepreneurial pursuits evolved. Despite having no formal fashion design schooling, he confidently ventured into the world of sneaker conventions, introducing exclusive sneakers and launching his own line of t-shirts. With each endeavor, McCoy’s passion for compelling design, craftsmanship, and business grew stronger—while his designs gained widespread acclaim.
Yet McCoy’s path to success was not without its challenges. Throughout his adolescence, McCoy grappled with chronic pain and undiagnosed health issues. Refusing to be a victim, McCoy turned to his passion for entrepreneurship as a source of strength and resilience. Fueled by his unwavering determination, McCoy created his now ubiquitous streetwear brand, HUMAN Clothing, by just the age of 14
McCoy’s tenacity caught the attention of Simon Tavassolia, the creator of the iconic BB Simon Swarovski Belts. Through opportunistic determination, McCoy secured his first brand collaboration with Tavassolia and their new line sold out shortly thereafter. McCoy used this significant career milestone to expand his HUMAN brand, learning the art of product seeding in the process. He then cultivated relationships with tastemaking celebrities such as Trippie Redd and NLE Choppa who soon began wearing his clothing line, further cementing his arrival in the fashion industry.
Ever the go-getter, McCoy made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles. However, he quickly confronted unforeseen challenges like the COVID lockdown and a short-lived leather atelier apprenticeship. Despite facing setbacks and adversity, McCoy remained undeterred.
Amidst the glitz and glamor of a Hollywood afterparty, McCoy seized an opportunity to showcase his talent to music and film executives. With the endorsement of hip-hop manager Buddy Gates, McCoy secured his first major deal to create a merch line for rapper Action Bronson. From there, McCoy quickly transformed his passion into a newfound venture and thriving business, Limitless Manufacturing Group.
McCoy continues to expand his influence within the fashion industry, recently receiving the coveted Shein Global Entrepreneur Award in 2023. Taking his brand to new heights, McCoy has become the go-to streetwear fashion designer for several rappers and industry folk, including BlocBoy JB, MadeinTYO, Lil Keed, and Adam 22.
Today, Miller McCoy stands as a testament to the power of resilience, artistry, and perseverance. From his humble Midwest beginnings to the elite design circles in Los Angeles, McCoy’s journey serves as a self-made inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs everywhere.
Through hard work, determination, and a steadfast belief in himself, McCoy has carved out his own path in the world of fashion, leaving an indelible mark on an industry that values innovation, creativity, and hustle above all else.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. From birth, I’ve had to overcome chronic pain and illness, challenges I still face today, along with mental health struggles. Growing up in a small town in Iowa, I never felt like I fit in. At 20, I shattered my leg from my knee to my ankle. Just three months into my recovery, my brother and I packed up and drove to Los Angeles, where I moved into a subleased apartment with two roommates in Santa Monica. Four days after I arrived, the COVID lockdown hit LA. My roommates, both wedding photographers, had to move out shortly after as all their gigs were canceled due to the lockdown.
I was down to my last few dollars when a friend I met online, Stephen, flew in from New York on a one-way ticket to stay with me. The day Stephen arrived, I secured a significant internship. When they asked if I knew anyone else who might be interested, I brought Stephen along. Two weeks into the internship, they offered us full-time positions with the promise of six-figure salaries. But three months later, when our first real payment was due, we discovered that the locks at the business had been changed, the driveway was empty, and no one would answer our calls. We had been scammed out of three months of work.
A week later, we found an eviction notice on our apartment door. It turned out that the person we were sending our rent to hadn’t been forwarding the payments to the apartment complex, scamming us out of our money and lease. In those final weeks, Steve and I managed to scrape together a few thousand dollars and found a townhouse in East Hollywood, near Normandie Avenue, where we lived together for nearly two years. It was also where we founded Limitless MFG LLC—now one of the leading merchandise and branding agencies for creators and major performing artists.
Life and business come with daily challenges. I like to think of myself as a problem solver. Instead of focusing on the issue itself, I look for solutions and work toward the most positive outcome.
There have been many more challenges and battles I’ve overcome, but this is just a brief overview.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My passion is in the arts of fashion, and I have a large drive for the business of fashion as well.
I have 2 entities in the fashion world
1) HUMAN clothing
The Vision of a Human
Human Clothing embodies the idea that we are all one in the same. Each of us began life the same way and we will all end our lives the same way. However, the time between birth and death is the fun part. Life offers us the chance to meet others, connect and learn from our differences in order to make each day fun, fresh and exciting. We are all different in many aspects, but at the base we are all human beings. We all breath, eat and sleep just the same. However, each of us carry our own unique components that make us individuals.
Our mission at Human is to focus on people. We pay attention to new ideas. We offer helpful opinions and attempt to move the world forward. Human stands for the acceptance of everyone, the representation of all and the chance to truly change the world. We believe that each day offers a new opportunity to meet others, share ideas and create beautiful things.
At Human, our aim is connect people through clothing. By establishing our style in base colors and fits, we allow our clothing to be worn by any human, any time. With simple fits including long and short sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts and pants, we want to provide pieces that are comfortable for any occasion yet stylish enough to stand out in a room full of stand-outs. We believe the essentials are important but we think the details matter even more.
Human wants to capture the moments that make us who we really are. We love friends that consider each other family. We love friends of different ages. We love every color, every religion and every orientation. We love every human.
2) LIMITLESS MFG
Meet Limitless, a full-service apparel and branding agency based in Los Angeles. Working side-by-side with his business partners, McCoy uses his artistry and business savvy to elevate the branding strategies and merchandise of artists, musicians, and major fashion brands. As a result, Limitless has become the preferred choice in one-source solutions for merchandise design and manufacturing, e-commerce management, and supply logistics for several high-profile tours and collaborations, including Mike., Marlon Craft, Time Piece Trading, Daringer, Bailey Zimmerman, Johnny Manziel, Desiigner, and more (not to mention another partnership with Action Bronson’s global Baklava tour).
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
growing up I was a professional magician by the age of 12 performing nation wide and training with some of the top magicians at the Magic Castle, in Las Vegas, and in New York performing with and learning from some of the best magicians in the biz.
