Today we’d like to introduce you to stephani Narvaez
Hi stephani, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I went to college at western ct state university and majored in media production. During my time as a college student I interned for media companies like Telemundo, AMC Networks, Univision, NBC Universal. In Summer 2019 when I was living in Miami during my internship, I had got a modeling opportunity with Foot Locker Inc. and I was chosen based on the content I had on my Instagram. That motivated me to start posting more and take social media serious but I did not know at the time that being a content creator was a thing/job. After I graduated college, I moved to Miami and after 50 job interviews, not getting to the next round, I stopped counting and applying and decided to pivot and look for on camera opportunities in the industry since corporate opportunities were not going as planned. I moved back to CT and got into acting in NYC. Within my first year I joined the union SAG AFTRA and was working as a background actor for a couple years. When Covid happened, shows stopped filming so I decided to pivot and got into creating content on my social media accounts. I had a passion for sneakers at the time so I would post a lot of sneaker content which lead me to my first brand deal with Nike. After that, I knew that content creation was my calling and have been doing that since. I have been able to work with many brands and last year in July 2023 I moved to LA and started creating beauty content and recently launched my Sephora campaign on my Instagram account . I now have a major list of brands I have collaborated with. I followed my passion and here I am living in LA, doing what I love and working with brands that I love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, since I didn’t know ANYTHING about being a content creator or knew anyone personally that did it, I didn’t have no one or didn’t know where to look for this information. But I am a big believer in God and he placed people and resources that I needed to continue in this path and found accounts on social media and learned about being a content creator though online ..
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Content Creator / Influencer
I am a Social media Influencer / content creator. I am in the beauty, lifestyle, and fashion space. I started creating content about sneakers, how to style sneakers, reviews, sneaker show, everything was about sneakers, then I started vlogging for my YouTube channel and when I moved to LA last year, I started getting invited to events in LA so I share recaps of events that I’ve attended and create more beauty and fashion content now, but I do see myself going back to the sneaker world eventually. I collab with brands to help promote their products on my social media accounts or sometimes just for their social media accounts, what people call now, UGC. What sets me a part from others is that I do have a college degree so I love and i’m very hands on in the business side of things and I feel like that has really helped me be where I am today and to be taken seriously. I am very proud to say that I have worked with so many big brands with the following count that I have. I don’t let the follower count discourage me because I’m clearly doing something right if I’m securing brand deals. I feel like people think that you have to have 10k or more to work with brands and I’m proof that I’ve been able to work with brands when I had less than 1k followers on IG. I believe that I am blessed with what I’ve had because I create high quality content and I’m very passionate about my career and I keep it real. I feel like that’s what brands and people that follow me see and can say about me. I don’t play when it comes to my career lol
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I grew up in the boys and girls club of America, mines was called Wakeman boys and girls club in bridgeport, ct. That was my second home, the staff were like my second family. Being a part of the club, the programs, the staff, everything about the club, was very positive and it was a reminder to me to always go after what I wanted in life and to think BIG. There Moto is “great features start here” and it really is true. I get very emotional talking about it because if you know me, you know that I give credit to my club and also I love my club so much that it will always be a part of my story. Not only was I a member there, but I got my first job there, I learned about the importance of volunteering and have volunteered and now that I am older and can’t attend lol, I still visit and I’m still involved. Weather it’s donating, volunteering, or even just visiting, I will forever do something that involves my local boys and girls club and I’m so loyal to the club, that they’re the only place I want to have this relationship with lol.
