Today we’d like to introduce you to @MakeupbyMellanii

MakeupbyMellanii, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Back in the teenage years I always had an interest in the beauty world. Whether it was doing different hairstyles on myself or makeup! Of course, I wasn’t perfect at it, but what matters is that I had passion in the beauty world. After a few years of college, different career paths, I finally realized I want to do something in my life that I enjoy, that I am happy doing so, and that’s when I decided to go to makeup school and start my career as a Makeup Artist. I started working with models, artists and eventually brides. My work started to get more attention as I became more involved in the social media. Of Course getting to where I am at today took a lot of hard work, learning, support, as well as confidence. But I don’t stop , I try to step up in my game daily and only get better.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, it has not been a smooth road, I had struggles along the way, people that always talked negative, but I just did not let anything stop me from becoming who I am today.

What is the most difficult part of what you do?
The hardest part of my job is finding enough time to spend with friends and family. I really hard for me to make time for self-initiated projects. Often I get so busy with my work schedule that my personal projects are pushed to the side.
I love working as a makeup artist and always try to be ahead of my competitions out there. But in order to succeed, I need to put most of my time on my career otherwise, I will be behind. My schedule often includes working on weekends and evenings.

What are you striving for, what criteria or markers have you set as indicators of success?
I define success when an individual achieves their desired aims. Basically, accomplishments = success.

What are your plans for the future?
My future Plans include opening up my own Beauty Studio, launching my own line of cosmetics, as well as teaching makeup. Of course it will take me time to achieve these goals, however, I am looking forward to them as two big changes in my life & career.
