Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Henriksen Scott.
Hi Paris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My story is a very cool and interesting one! It started in a small town in Australia over 3 decades ago, the typical Aussie lifestyle growing up, accompanied by a lot of performing as a dancer and enjoying entertainment such a film.
In my early 20s, I had a thriving career as a celebrity stylist and retail manager, both at different points throughout that time. But something always rang true, and that was my love for film, and good ones at that; I truly loved all the old and timeless classics, so with film school under my belt and a dream, I made the decision to come to Hollywood, The City of Angeles. Since coming here, I have had some of the best times of my life, and It’s something only little Paris could have dreamed of, but it definitely hasn’t come without its challenges or eye rolls from industry folks who are looking at someone who is wanting to change the landscape and bring more conscious content/stories that have deeper meaning and likely thinking what is she doing. lol
However, nothing has stopped or dimmed my spark for trying to bring lighter and more conscious stories to the screen in any capacity, whether that be a film or a TV Show.
As I go into this next decade in the industry, my story looks to change a little as I begin to get more involved in podcasting, sports entertainment, and Documentary spaces. I am excited for the challenge.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
You ask anyone who is in Film/Entertainment, and they will likely laugh at this question not because it doesn’t make sense but because everyone, and I mean everyone, has had obstacles at some stage in their career; that’s the nature of this business.
For me, I have obstacles and challenges daily, but what I can say is that nothing will make you stronger that realizing who your true allies are in this business; there is so much jealousy, take energy, and greed, so finding the people that are truly by your side is a blessing and something that has taken me till just recently to find. BUT I have always had that never give up attitude and desire to create magic that nothing is an obstacle for too long.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Film and TV Producer, Director, and Entrepreneur who, of course, wears many hats. My company specializes in conscious entertainment and forward-thinking media.
I am most proud of my ability to stay strong in an ever-changing landscape of entertainment.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Moving halfway across the world without any family or friends by my side (physically), I would say, was the biggest risk I have taken, also leaving the stability of a weekly paycheck to become an entrepreneur that takes major courage, and not everyone is able to do that, so I am very proud
