Conversations with Ivanna Gantous

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivanna Gantous.

Hi Ivanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory. 
DTLA Visuals was founded by Nadeer and Ivanna in 2021. The business started when the duo realized there was a need for more luxury-designed creative spaces in the area. While there were plenty of simple natural light photo studio spaces, there was a lack of carefully designed spaces that were fully furnished to help elevate people’s imagery. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the company now consists of 7 stunning photo/film studios. 

Since its launch, DTLA Visuals has been a part of many high-level brand campaigns as well as enjoyed by many everyday individuals who need a special place to capture memories. The studios can be used for many creative purposes, including fashion, videoshoots, boudoir photography, maternity photography, and even events. 

We are very proud of what the company has become and its successes. This past year, we have had the honor of working with very notable companies such as Netflix, Disney +, and fashion brands Banana Republic, Good American, and more. It is such an unbelievable experience watching a show and then realizing…hey! that is our studio. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When DTLA Visuals launched, it was a very scary and unknown time in the world. It was in the middle of Covid, and no one knew what was going to happen with businesses, their loved ones, everything. At the time, we did not know if anyone would even book our studio spaces; however, we believe it really provided a space for content makers to come out of their homes and into a safe space where they can create. At the time, no one was traveling, and people did not want to be out in public around others and risk themselves/others. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
With a background in architectural design, Ivanna has always had a passion for design and creating inspiring spaces. 

Ivanna graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona. Her design expertise is derived from working in several architecture firms, including Johnston Marklee, F-ARE, and KB Home. 

Ivanna quickly realized many of the local studio spaces lacked unique and quality designs. Each DTLA Visuals studio allows the user to feel moved and inspired to create when they enter. The spaces are designed keeping in mind how a user would move throughout the space as well as contains designer and vintage furniture. The goal is not to have trendy pieces but instead timeless and luxurious pieces.
