Meet Dr. Shree Cooper-Franks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Shree Cooper-Franks. She and her team shared their story with us below:

Dr. Shree Cooper-Franks

In 2001, she started her career as a Clinical Research Coordinator because of her compassion for people and science. Shree’s passion for research in infectious disease, rheumatology, oncology, and other diseases that plague society grew. She wanted to make a difference and in having worked in the community, she felt a need to improve indigent communities from a corporate standpoint.

Shree currently works for a biopharmaceutical company focusing on providing compassionate used medication to healthcare practitioners globally. In addition, as a Global Clinical Project Manager, she collaboratively works with other pharmaceutical professionals on New Drug Application submissions to exceed the timeline by seven weeks. With her leadership and tenacity for science and research studies, she has been a top producer in the 21st century.

Shree has dedicated over 22 years in corporate America; however, she knew that God had a deeper purpose for her life. In 2015, the Lena Bonton Foundation was created in honor of her grandmother Lena Bell Bonton, who died from Multiple Myeloma (bone cancer) in 2011. The foundation provides scholarships to high school seniors and 1st &2nd year college students who major in Science and/or Technology. The work was not done; consequently, with more vigor and tenacity Shree and her husband started their philanthropic work in the community by creating C Franks Holding, LLC, which supports 3 Series of LLCs: FranksC Investment Team, FranksC Independent Living and FranksC Assisted Living, which provides housing for veterans,  boarding for individuals with intellectual mental disabilities, individuals who have limits to their activities of daily living, or require some medical oversight.

Lastly, Shree wanted to impact women and men by having a call to action that would allow people to share their passion and purpose- their “IT”. In 2020, Shree created the company called “It’s the LOVE for ME”. She trademarked the company in 2022 and looks forward to inspiring, motivating, and encouraging the conversations where people share their “WHY”. In all that she does, she is a member of ForbsBLK, active in her community and loves to stay engaged at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. Shree believes it is her intrinsic duty to attain knowledge and promote knowledge that would generate an understanding enabling the delivery of quality healthcare to all.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Many of my businesses were launched during the height of Covid, with strained finances and resources, and the weight of the looming question of “am I doing the right things? Or did I make the right decision launching businesses. Overall questioning my purpose and allowing doubt to set in.

To date, I have to self-reflect and meditate because stress and doubt are always at the forefront. I wrote the book, Pursuit of Purpose: 11 Keys to Rise like a Phoenix and Soar for me and others to remind them that obstacles are always present but we were created by the Divine for a unique PURPOSE and it’s important to find that purpose along our life journey. Those are the key that I use to remind myself when I encounter roadblocks, unbelief, lack of support, doubt, uncertainty, lack of resources, and fear of failure on this journey called life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I smile and laugh alot as my default. Many people have told me that I am always happy and that I seem like I have it all together. I smile to keep from crying. I CHOOSE to smile through the pain of uncertainties or doubt. I CHOOSE to believe that trouble won’t last always. I also get fearful; however, my mantra is whenever I feel fearful remember to just “Leap afraid and gain confidence on the way down”.
