Check Out Lizeth Hernandez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizeth Hernandez.

Lizeth Hernandez

Lizeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Lazy Hype started in San Francisco where I found a desperate need for affordable, sustainable products in the activewear space. I also noticed all my fitness studios didn’t have private label apparel or at least any that was updating monthly, meaning if they even had any, they probably had to buy large levels of inventory to add their logos, so I saw the market need and branched Lazy Hype into private label.

Wanting to keep everything local, it made more sense to live in LA and move all production, so today, we operate in LA and aim to be affordable while offering low minimum private label production, direct-to-consumer styles that update bimonthly and do our very best to keep everything recycled and naturally or sublimated dyed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a roller coaster like I think any startup. Mainly because I’m learning and evolving as we’re slowly growing, so I take accountability on the ups and downs because it’s all a process.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run all operations for Lazy Hype as the founder and creative director. I have over 12 years in buying, product branding, sourcing, and product development so I can easily see there is a big miss in the market for affordable sustainable locally made products so I’m most proud of Lazy Hype to help fill that market need.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’ve learned to be patient and lead with compassion because we all have different journeys and to also aim to be an effective communicator because that’s what will produce the results within the team.
