My artistic journey began with a dream and a passion for creativity. Fueled by a deep love for art, I made the bold decision to move to California to pursue my artist career. It was there that I found the perfect environment to nurture my talents and learn the craft.

Enrolling in an esteemed art school, I immersed myself in a world of artistic exploration and technical skill development. The structured curriculum provided me with a strong foundation while allowing space for personal expression. Surrounded by fellow aspiring artists, I found inspiration and a sense of belonging in a community that shared my love for art.

As I honed my skills, I discovered my affinity for editorial work. Through various projects, I began to understand the power of art in storytelling and conveying emotions. This led me to seek mentorships in the film industry, where I learned how to translate my artistic vision into visual narratives. These experiences allowed me to expand my creative horizons and refine my unique style.

To gain practical experience, I eagerly interned for start-ups that focused on the intersection of art and technology. Here, I witnessed firsthand how innovation and creativity could converge to create unique and captivating artistic experiences. This exposure broadened my perspective and helped me develop a versatile skill set that combined traditional art techniques with emerging digital mediums.

Currently, I have found a fulfilling role at an art consulting firm, where I am able to apply my artistic expertise to assist clients in curating meaningful collections. This position not only allows me to engage with art on a deeper level but also provides invaluable insights into the art market and industry.

Alongside my professional pursuits, I am pursuing my masters, further deepening my understanding of art theory, techniques, art history, and critical analysis.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
However, my artistic journey has not been without its fair share of struggles. Navigating and exploring different industries has been both interesting and challenging. I faced the task of adapting my artistic vision to suit each unique context.

Adjusting to different markets and work environments presented initial challenges. The art world can vary significantly from one sector to another, and it took time and perseverance to understand the nuances and expectations of each.

Despite the initial challenges, I now appreciate the benefits of having worked across various industries. The knowledge and experiences I gained in each sector have become invaluable assets, allowing me to draw upon a diverse skill set and apply it interchangeably.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Inspired by my Latino heritage, my work is infused with a blend of ‘costumbrista’ and whimsical elements. I draw inspiration from the vibrant colors, rich cultural traditions, and diverse stories that define my background. Through my art, I aim to celebrate and explore the beauty and complexities of my heritage, offering viewers a glimpse into my world while evoking emotions and sparking meaningful conversations.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I find joy in exploring museums and galleries, where I can lose myself in the beauty and inspiration of artworks created by both past and contemporary artists. The experience of standing in front of a masterpiece, absorbing every brushstroke and color choice, fills me with a sense of awe and wonder. It is in these moments that I feel a profound connection to the artistic spirit that transcends time and space.
