Meet Arianna Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arianna Jones.

Hi Arianna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I performed in my first play when I was in middle school and I instantly fell in love with acting. The production was a play about three cheerleaders called So You Wanna Be a Cheerleader. At the time, I was a cheerleader on a competition travel team as well as the team at my middle school so of course, it caught my eye. I auditioned and got the lead role and that’s where it all started. In high school, I began branching out and looking for more opportunities. I booked my first feature film at age 16. Coincidentally, I played a cheerleader in the movie Goosebumps 2! Being on the set changed my life forever. I was blessed to discover my passion at such a young age. I knew then that this was what I wanted to do. After high school graduation, I went to New York University and got my BFA. Now here I am, still acting but also writing, producing, and creating in ways that I never even imagined.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My family was never very wealthy. I spent a majority of my childhood in my grandparents’ tiny, cozy trailer in Esmont, Virginia. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that opportunities and resources are scarce for children and families of low socioeconomic status in this country, especially for children of color. But despite not having much financial support, I had an abundance of support and love from my family. Encouraging and supporting a child when they’re still young, innocent, and willing to dream big dreams is one of the greatest gifts you could give them.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actress, a writer, a producer; I dance, and create visual art and online content – I’m an overall artist! I love art in all of its various forms. I also have a passion for activism and philanthropy. A majority of my artistic work is centered around advocating for minority communities and speaking out against injustice. One of the things I’m most proud of at the moment is the launch of my film production company, Arianna Jones Productions. I started the business in late December and I’ve already started developing my first original series! The series is a sci-fi thriller that comments on prevalent social issues such as the wealth gap, mass incarceration, and police brutality.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I believe the most important lesson I’ve learned throughout my journey so far is how to move with humility. Of course, it is crucial that you love yourself and know your worth, but you can never truly elevate yourself if you are not humble. At the end of the day, your status means nothing. It is your character, your positive energy, the impact you leave on the people around you, and how you help and support those people around you that will truly last.
