Rising Stars: Meet Pierre Chaveyriat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre Chaveyriat.

Pierre, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
All started when I was really young, I was doing some mountain bikes with some friends and I discovered the racing world: I fell in love with he Drift and starting building by myself my own car: A BMW 3 Serie 1989. I was 18 years ago and it was an amazing time. My first drift track day was when I was 20years old and this is all I wanted to do. The Drift in France did not have a big scene at that time, it was mainly some fun and drifting with friends, this is what I love the most. I was working a mechanic shop, I met my wife and I started that crazy project: Bloodmotorsport. We bought an old factory, built a house and a Mechanic shop just next to it. I started doing some friend’s car and started to be known for my welding technique. The drift also became more and more popular and I started building entire car for the people who were competing in the French Drift League represented by the FFSA. Years later, and after so much work I built so many cars for Drifters, restore some crazy cars, did crazy project like the 68′ Dodge Charger of Alexandre Claudin that did the show ” Hyperdrive” on Netflix. This is where we decided with my wife to sell everything we have to move to Redondo Beach with our two kids. We wanted to try to live abroad with our kids and I wanted to be in LA: The place to be as a builder of drift car. Bloodmotorsport USA is born and I am now building race car for pro national drivers and teams that compete in the Formula D the world wide biggest drift championship. Always trust your dreams.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was not, I start my business young and I had to earn the trust of my client, it was long hours of work and sacrifices. I couldn’t count the hours I have done but it was worth it. Moving to the USA was also a challenge, I was not that good in English and people again didn’t know me, it was starting all over again. We had to invest a lot of money in order to have our visa and to start Bloodmotorsport USA, it was not easy. I would lie if I would say I never thought about going back to France some days.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I build racing cars, my main goal is to take a regular car and make it the best race car by using all it potential so it can be at the highest level of performance. I am pretty known for my welding technique and experiences, I love building roll cages. I am passionate about my work, I rather take several days to build something than doing it faster ands cheaper.

I think I am proud to be able to work like people use to work in the old days, I love when people call me “artisan” in French. I take the time that I need to make something perfect. I do not want to do the same job twice. This is all welding is about for me. I am also very proud when clients are telling me that my work looks like a work of art because this is my goal, this is why I am working that way. This is also setting me apart from the others, I can build you everything you want, nothing is too crazy for me, but you will have to trust me and my expertise and not go too fast and buy the cheaper product to have a car that could drive.

What matters most to you?
If it’s about work, I would say the say thing that I said, taking the proper time to build an amazing car.

If it’s in general, I would say taking care of my family and spending some time with them. I could spent crazy hours at work but what makes me the most happy is when I open the door and that my kids jump into my arm and I see my wife: I live for those moments.
