Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyrus Moghadassi.
Hi Cyrus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up, I was raised by very kind, peaceful parents, so naturally I rebelled by being obsessed with hyper-macho movies. My name at camp was Rambo…I was six. This did not please my very reasonable parents. Luckily, as this road toward badassery went on, my parents recognized that my “energy” needed healthy channeling so they enrolled me in martial arts. This was perhaps one of the greatest decisions in my upbringing as it allowed me to balance my desire for physical strength while teaching me discipline, compassion and to prioritize skill.
Years later after much training and exploring I took a break from martial arts and fitness in general. Luckily, I took time to lose track of my health and I didn’t feel good or confident anymore. Eventually (big thanks to my wife) I rediscovered fitness and decided to really learn how it all works. Around 15 years later, here I am loving what I do, which is sharing my passion for health and fitness to all. And yes, I still have some macho proclivities, but i am now a parent that teaches peace too. Everything great I have is from having great people teaching and encouraging me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been some struggles, but honestly, compared to what most people have to deal with…I have very little to complain about.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What I do is pretty straightforward personal training and owning a gym for other trainers to ply their craft as well. If I’m known for anything, hopefully,m it’s being thoughtful in my approach to fitness and thoughtful in my cultivation of great people to have around, I am extremely proud of my clients and coworkers thriving and enjoying their lives even 1% more because I’ve helped in some way. I think what sets me apart is that I try to engage the mind as much as the body.
What’s next?
Future plans are just to slowly and organically expand and to stay open to all good possibilities.
