Today we’d like to introduce you to Payman Joseph.

The founder Dr. Joseph has struggled with weight loss for many years, however it had come to a point where his health was in danger. So he took a serious step and began the Optifast program. Within only two weeks he lost 15 lbs.! And by the time he completed the program he lost over 30 lbs.! Because of his own personal journey to success, Dr. Joseph is not only knowledgeable about the medical aspects of weight loss, but also the personal struggles and challenges one faces when feeling overweight and defeated. His mission by opening Skinny Me Med clinic is to help people feel positive, energetic, and most importantly successful.

He is a highly experienced physician who works with women in his Ob/Gyn practice for over 14 years in Los Angeles.

Due to his wealth of experience he is familiar with the hormonal balances and imbalances a woman may have that might be debilitating her success in weight loss.

Has it been a smooth road?
When I started Skinny Me Med, just like any new business it was a struggle to build awareness that we existed. There are few medical weight loss clinics that offer the array of medical diets that we provide. However, through marketing on social media, our 5 start reviews on Yelp, and referrals from happy patients we are growing every day. In fact, we have done so much better than we imagined that we have opened 2 more locations within the last year!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Skinny Me Med story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in medical weight loss. Meaning that we provide diet plans and medication that can only be given through a medical professional. We have specifically researched all of our medically prescribed diet appetite suppressants to make sure they are the best on the market and give the best results. Our restricted diet programs, HCG, Optifast, and Skinny Me Med Diet have specific protocols that guarantee success. We also provide B12 shots, and Lipoden shots that help with speeding up metabolism, stress levels, immune system support, and help break down fat in unwanted areas. Lastly, we have added the latest & hottest body contouring systems to our practice. SculpSure and SmartLipo. SculpSure melts the fat in specific areas in 30 minute sessions, the results are phenomenal and our patients love the fact that there is no down time and that it’s a non-invasive procedure to eliminate stubborn fat. SmartLipo is lipo that is done under local anesthesia with little down time and again amazing results.

What sets us apart from others and we take great pride in, is that we are solely focused on weight loss & weight loss management. Every service we offer is specific to successful weight loss. There are many medi spas across Los Angeles that offer for example B12 shots, or SculpSure, however they offer other unrelated services that don’t coincide with weight loss. We like to think of ourselves as a “one stop weight loss clinic”, our patient’s success is our success. Nothing makes us happier than seeing a patient who walks in feeling defeated with unsuccessful diets and low motivation and within weeks they have dropped 10 pounds and walk into our clinic with an extra bounce in their step and excited with their success and motivated more than ever. Our medical team at all of our locations have been trained not only about the program and nutrition, they have been trained to support and empathize with each patient and to guarantee motivation and success through behavioral changes as well.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe weight-loss has always been and will continue to be a huge industry, specifically to Los Angeles because of the celebrities and awareness of body image and looking the ‘part’. There is always trends and diet fads that come and go, however medical diets are not a ‘trend’, they are researched and scientifically proven to help with SAFE weight loss.
