Conversations with CJ Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to CJ Jackson.

Hi CJ, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada Started training to become a professional dancer from the age of 12. After growing up in a competitive dance studio and graduating from a commercial dance program in college, I started focusing my training with professional choreographers in downtown Toronto. Performing in several music videos, festivals and a performance tour around Canada. Throughout my journey, I started training in acting. I recently booked a role as a character in the film “See no Evil” season 8. As all style dancer, my goal is to bring joy and positivity to the world through performance as it’s something I will never stop loving.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not as this craft can be very costly, tiring and a lot of decline of opportunity until you finally get a booking. As an artist, you are always in training and will never be perfect so you’re always learning in class. The industry is also very competitive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am all style dancer who specializes in dancehall and acrobatics & social media influencers. I am known for the name “Mr. Worldwide” as I travel a lot for dance and content creation with a fan base and following of over 10 thousand on social media. The thing I’m most proud about myself is booking a performance tour all around Canada. What sets me apart from others is being an all-style dancer infusing dancehall and technical training.

What are your plans for the future?
Future performance tours overseas. And more performances with artists.
