Exploring Life & Business with Dr. Michelle Lee of PERK Plastic Surgery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Michelle Lee.

Hi Dr. Lee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
One of the reasons I fell in love with plastic surgery is because it blends science with art. I come from an artistic background––I was a piano performance major in college and played in concert halls across Europe.

After college, I pivoted and went to medical school on a merit scholarship. Upon completing my education and training, I moved to Los Angeles to be with my husband and founded PERK Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills.

Overall, establishing this practice has been a dream come true. Not only does my team and I get to meet and treat patients from all over the world and create the perfect aesthetic experience for them, but PERK also allows us the opportunity to create our own version of the ideal business. We got to collaborate in creating our own skincare line, PERKPotions, and we are now in the midst of designing and building our beautiful new office in Beverly Hills. No detail has been spared! The practice gives all of us so much opportunity to learn and grow.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road to becoming a board-certified plastic surgeon and establishing my own cosmetic practice was certainly not a smooth one. The practice of surgery requires a lot of personal sacrifices as it takes an extraordinary amount of time and hard work. I remember being on call routinely over holidays… it dominates your 20’s and 30’s. In fact, I didn’t have the time to have a baby until I was 39! That said, I wouldn’t change a thing. The grueling hours are the exact thing that contributes to my evolution as a surgeon.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about PERK plastic surgery?
I founded PERK plastic surgery as an aesthetic destination for those seeking natural results in a luxurious and private office setting located in the heart of Beverly Hills. My specialty (and passion) is facial plastic surgery. I am best known for my expertise in both nonsurgical and surgical facial rejuvenation. Whether it’s skincare, injectables, or facelifts, we emphasize highlighting each individual’s unique beauty rather than making everyone look the same. Some may know me from E! Entertainment’s reboot of Dr. 90210 (2020), and others may have gotten to know me through my social media presence on Instagram and TikTok.

What sets PERK plastic surgery apart from other practices, and the tenant I take the most pride in preserving for my brand is a commitment to providing natural results. I find that accentuating our natural beauty produces the most aesthetically appealing and harmonious results.

How do you think about luck?
Luck plays a huge role in everything that we do. I feel incredibly lucky every single day for so many reasons––for having some of the most amazing patients in the world, for getting to work with the incredibly inspiring women on my team, and for my son and husband, to name a few.

I find that approaching all situations (personally and professionally) with an attitude of abundance helps to perpetuate just that––abundance! There is a certain power we assume when we surrender what is out of our control to the universe and in acknowledging that chaos is a part of its nature. When we can accept that certain situations are out of our control is when we can rediscover and redefine our own power that we yield in all aspects of our lives––as business owners, as parents, as partners, as friends… the list goes on.
