Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Phan.
Hi Krystal, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since high school, I’ve been passionate about photography. Thanks to an inspiring teacher I fell in love with the art and it quickly became my hobby. That eventually led me to land my very first job as a food photographer, and from there I went on to assemble a portfolio of commercial, fashion, portraiture and now wedding photography projects.
Being a photographer is an absolute dream! I have been able to meet the most incredible people and embark on the most thrilling adventures all thanks to my job. Going on the journey of capturing life’s moments in photographs has allowed me to travel for work and fill my heart with tremendous gratitude. It’s not every day you get an opportunity about this; it truly is a blessing!
My passion for photography, coupled with my expertise in marketing and leadership through my current PhD studies has led me to start a digital marketing agency. The vision behind it is to provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with an effective platform to create their dream brand from scratch, with the help of all kinds of marketing media including – of course – exceptional photographs. It’s been incredibly rewarding so far – from capturing amazing images for inspiring entrepreneurs to see their stories come alive in truly unique ways!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As a photographer and small business owner, I understand firsthand just how rough the road to success can be. Beyond mastering the skills of photography, I had to learn how to find customers and establish a brand for myself. It took me time and effort (still does) to understand my target customer and how to effectively market my services. What I found out was that it’s not about being the best photographer there is – what sets you apart is being able to show customers value in their decision to work with you. Finding ways to stand out amidst competition and make people say “yes!” – that’s what really helped me grow my business.
We’ve been impressed with K Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Transitioning from being a freelancer, I’m now developing a team of professional photographers and videographers to bring our business to the next level. K studio specializes in Commercial, Fashion, Portrait as well as Wedding.
Our studio is a part of Markester – Digital Marketing Agency. We are passionate about providing captivating photography and video visuals that will make your brand stand out. We believe that photo visuals are an effective way to create a memorable impact with potential customers and our customers can count on us to provide them with the highest quality photo and video visuals available.
What’s next?
As I look to the future and strive to scale my photography business, I am transitioning from working as a freelancer to forming an elite photography studio. Our future plan has been laid out with great detail, aiming to bring together a larger team who each specializes in different aspects of photography and videography. By bringing together this collective of experienced individuals, we will have the capacity to take our photography services and growth potential further than it ever has before. Together, we are confident we can make our future plan a reality.
