Today we’d like to introduce you to Lea.
Hi Lea, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my project, L E A, in 2016 when I won a songwriting contest at my college. I flew out to LA and recorded and released my first single for that project! I had been writing and singing my entire life, so this felt like a pivotal first step in my career. I’ve been out here in LA for six years and now am releasing music in the alternative pop/pop punk space and getting to perform at various emo nights all over the country.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely a rollercoaster of struggles, excitement, and more. I am a hard worker and I enjoy the time and effort it takes to release music, but the financial aspect of it all is pretty uncertain and stressful.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an alternative pop/pop punk artist and front my own band, L E A! I’ve been writing for this part of my project for about 2 years and travel to Nashville to produce and record my music. Getting to dive head-first into this genre and scene has been exhilarating. I’ve met, gotten to work with, and became friends/mutual with so many people I look up to in this community. For me, that is one of my biggest accomplishments. I’ve also had the pleasure to play various Emo Night and shows around the country, which make it all worth it and more! Getting to share my music with so many people and creating new memories and fans is such a joy.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Patience. It takes so much time and dedication to even make a movement in the music industry and I’m slowly watching it pay off after all these years.
