Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyza Williamson.
Hi Kyza, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a creative with love for color detail, I started my story working for State Beauty Supply. As an Inside Sales Associate, I became familiar with the chemistry of all things beauty driven! I quickly realized I wanted to be in the grind and transitioned to being a stylist behind the chair. The freedom to create whatever I wanted was finally a reality! I have been there ever since. All my passion is derived from the base of all chemical hair services, CHEMISTRY!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have been very blessed to have an incredibly smooth road to success. There is always a level of grinding that comes with this industry. I was no different in that sense. I will say having a passion of “why” is one of the best attributes you can have as a stylist behind the chair. This will help you be able to access the problem and meet it with education.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in color correcting and blonding. I am best known for my color accuracy. I can look at a photo and make it come to life with a custom formula. What makes me most proud is after the color correction client of 8-12 hours photo session. As a colorist, I believe it can set you apart from the other beauty professionals. Body position, lighting, and styling is all very personal to the Colorist. It’s how we present our art to the world!
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I would have to say my husband Mackenzie. He is my best friend and always holds me down especially at home with our family. Professionally, I would say Maurice Cornell. He is an amazing friend who is so creative and talented. I have also met some amazing individuals at my new location, Esmeralda and Meagan Spires. Support can come in different forms especially in the beauty Industry. It could be offering to pick up lunch or just simply being positive and being present. I would say that’s what I love about them; they are all these things and more. We always have a million things happening outside of the salon, but when someone is present and positive in the workspace that can make the biggest difference in your day.
