Meet Jordyn Rax

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordyn Rax.

Hi Jordyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
With a new start into any career or calling, I feel there’s a lot of touch and go. It was no different for myself. It wasn’t just about getting in front of the right people and being in the right places, it was a daily practice of examining and reprogramming a lot of previous limiting beliefs that held me back. As soon as I began tackling these narratives that didn’t serve me, doors started opening.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Vincent Van Gough once said something to the affect of, “Normality is a paved road. It’s comfortable to walk but no flowers grow.” The days can be tough, 14+ hours on set, overnight shoots, but then when I’m not working a set for longer than a week or two, I’m constantly on the hunt to find something new. Despite it all, it fulfills me. It’s a delicate balance of retaining a personal life but also pursuing what I love. There have been smooth periods, yes, but for the most part, in my experience, it’s comparable to scaling a mountain you have little to no direction on. You just have to go for it and take it step by step.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My most notable and latest work has been on Paramount’s new series ‘Lioness’ as a feature alongside one of the principal cast.

Prior to that, I was apart of the crew for A24’s upcoming musical ‘F*cking Identical Twins’ earlier this year and finished 2021 with the network series ‘A Good Cop’.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Keep going.

I’ve told myself an infinite amount of times that if I were to quit tomorrow, I would regret it at 65. There are some things that I can live the rest of my days without knowing. This isn’t one of them. So on the good days, keep going. On the worst days, keep going.
