Today we’d like to introduce you to Kezia Luckett.
Hi Kezia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
On a cold winters morning back in 2016, I awoke early needing to clear my head, I was in the middle of doing my Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology and felt an unwavering desire to get out. The rain was lashing down, but I donned my weather gear and headed out the door. Within minutes, I was being bombarded with questions and a clear vision of something incredible. I hurried home and with one question prominent in my mind, I set down in front of my computer and asked “If you could go back in time to a pivotal moment of adversity and give yourself words of encouragement, wisdom and inspiration, what would you say and would you change anything?”.
As my fingers typed frantically on the keyboard, the vision was cemented with not only a movement called Women of Contribution, which would allow EVERY woman to realize that just by being herself, she was already contributing massively to the world but also a book series which would show women around the globe that our moments of adversity do not need to be hidden away, in the sharing of them we can empower others to know they are not alone and in their moment of darkness, the light will always return.
I called the book series “The Pay it Forward Series: Notes to My Younger Self©” not only because our authors pay forward their stories as they write back to their younger selves, but because the book is very unique, once the reader has finished reading the book they head to the front of the book where there is a message box and write their own message of hope and inspiration and then place a post-it note on the front that reads “THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU. READ IT. LOVE IT. PAY IT FORWARD” and then they are encouraged to leave it for a stranger to find, either on a park bench, a cafe or even on the train.
Over the last four years, our book has traveled round the world, with over 65 authors in 15 different countries getting involved in our mission to positively impact on one billion lives worldwide.
This vision from God not only gifted me a way to change lives through the power of stories but also gave me a unique, transformational Positive Psychology modality called Mind Conditioning Therapy© which allows me to guide leaders across the world to release limiting beliefs, fears and stories that hold them back from making a positive, impactful footprint on the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With every journey we go on, the path to the destination we desire, is often the road less traveled, especially in business.
With every step forward, we are gifted with the hindsight of knowledge and if we do not learn the lessons, we take several steps back until we gain the wisdom gifted us, my journey has been no different.
The biggest obstacle I overcame was learning to share this big mission. When you know that your mission is to positively impact on one billion lives worldwide, the question of who am I to think I can do this? can often come through loud and clear, however in the words of Marianne Williamson who are we not to think we will not receive everything we need.
I truly believe that when we are given a vision so big and so strong, not only is there a power greater than ourselves leading it but people, circumstances and experiences will be presented for our evolution and growth.
There is however always two sides to every coin. With as many women that have stepped forward to join me on this mission, we can often be met with resistance from others, learning to move above that, safe in the knowledge that everything happens for our greater good, can sometimes be a difficult pill to swallow, especially when human emotions kick in.
As you know, we’re big fans of Women of Contribution Global Limited. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Women of Contribution Global Limited was initially created as a movement so that every woman would recognize that just by being themselves, they are already contributing to the world, however so many women don’t recognize and feel the truth of who they are, instead they get bogged down with the experiences of life, and the beliefs and fears that are created by them.
So initially I started helping individuals to achieve exponential growth in business and life by positively reprogramming stories of failure & adversity, utilizing Positive Psychology, Emotional Regulation & encoding Human Behaviour for success & growth.
The company has since grown and has expanded to work with both individuals and companies who are interested in Authentic Living, Leadership, Positive Contribution and the maximization of individual potential using the scientific principles of Positive Psychology: Strengths, behaviours and emotions that allow individuals, communities and organizations to flourish and thrive.
This has gifted me the opportunity to travel speaking from stage, working privately 1:1 online, running workshops and conferences.
What does success mean to you?
I used to define success by numbers, metrics that could be measured whether that was turnover, profit or followers on social media, however I do believe for me success is defined by two words that are important to me… connection and peace
Having true meaningful connections with the people I interact with on a day to day basis whether clients, followers or the mailman brings so much joy into my life, being able to truly tap into what it means to be human.
Going to bed each night with peace in my heart, safe in the knowledge that everything is working out for my highest good, gives me an inner knowing that I didn’t have before. This has allowed me to slow down and make the most of my life rather than chasing the unobtainable or worrying about things that I have no control over.
