Community Highlights: Meet Yewande Moore of Nail Candy Luxury Press On Nails

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yewande Moore.

Hi Yewande, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When the pandemic began in March of 2020, I was greatly affected by the nail shops closing down. I knew that I did not want to go without having my nails done. This was something important to me, so I immediately began searching for solutions. I came across press-on nails and at first, I was hesitant because I was not sure they would last, but I found some blogs explaining the art of press-on application and how to get them to last long.

I decided to teach myself how to make them because I wanted them to be of good quality and I wanted to customize my sizing. After a while, I realized that more people really needed a way to do their nails while nail shops were inactive, so I started Nail Candy Luxury Press Ons. I started in June 2020 and I am still going strong. In fact, my business is about to expand as I have been making hand-made nails since 2020, but I will now also be offering ready-made nails that will ship immediately and are the same great quality as my hand-made ones.

Providing a great experience for all my customers is my number one priority! I love making/selecting nails for my website and I also love engaging with my customers on Instagram and Facebook. I feel that I have built more than a business, but also a community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s definitely ups and downs, but with any business–this will be the case. Sometimes I think about giving up, but then I think about how far I’ve come and how far I hope to go so I can keep pushing.

Imposter syndrome can truly get in the way of productivity but I’m learning that means I am the only one in my way and I have to stop that way of thinking

I specialize in press-on nails of various shapes, sizes, and designs. What sets me apart from others is my intense love for nail glam–I believe everyone should have access to beautiful nails conveniently and at a great price. In addition, my products are size inclusive as I offer something for people of all nail sizes. I put my heart and soul into every product I have ever sold and love connecting with my customers and getting to know them.

I am proud of the network and support I have built. They keep me going and motivated.

I want readers to know that I am only getting started. I want to expand my business into something more than just a place for nails, but a place for all beauty and accessories needs. It’s been a great journey thus far, but I am really looking forward to what is ahead!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I never could have imagined myself owning a business 10 years ago, but I couldn’t picture it any other way and I am happy I took that leap
