Meet Emerald Gruin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emerald Gruin. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Gruin Gallery is a contemporary art gallery established in Los Angeles in 2021 by Emerald Gruin. Everything we do is grounded in a foundation of developing strong, deep and trusted relationships with artists and clients that we believe in, care about and enjoy working with.

Previously based in New York, the gallery works with American and Australian artists and has staged critically acclaimed exhibitions.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Moving to LA has been surprisingly terrific for business. We have been collaborating with domicile (n.) in East Hollywood and Show Gallery in West Hollywood. We had to get acclimatized to the art world here, as we were new to LA in August last year, so the collaboration was the best way to do that. It’s been wonderfully smooth. The biggest obstacle has been covid and navigating this during the pandemic.

Gruin Gallery is a contemporary art gallery. We specialize in American and Australian art and bringing critically acclaimed exhibits to Los Angeles.

What does success mean to you?
Success is treating others how you wish to be treated. Success is having clear goals and intentions and developing trusted lifelong relationships. Being at peace with oneself. Creating experiences and connections across art, artists and collectors that are meaningful and joyful.
