Meet Santa Monica Fashion Stylist: Naomi Zinns

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Zinns.

Naomi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Started as an assistant to a fashion stylist in San Francisco and worked my way up from there.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. I don’t think anyone in a creative field, pursuing their dreams ever encounter a smooth or easy road to success. Building your own business, becoming an entrepreneur, navigating the fashion industry, there are a lot of hurdles along the way.

Do you feel luck has played a role in your life?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in hard work and the power of networking. I believe being a good person is a stronger asset than compromising your morals to get ahead. I believe what’s meant to be will be and in the meantime you hustle.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Resilience. This is definitely not a career choice for the weak. You have to have a strong work ethic and stay true to your vision.

What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
Living by the beach is amazing. Watching the sunset on a rooftop or driving down the coast to Malibu are probably my favorite things.

But I hate the traffic and I hate that you have to drive everywhere. It’s the worst.
