Meet Sydney Daly-Weber and Bianca Karim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Daly-Weber and Bianca Karim.

Hi Sydney and Bianca, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Bianca and I met while working in the marketing department for a local jewelry store. We both have a love of crystals and candles and had always wanted to start our own little passion project. We started toying around with the idea and testing out different recipes, but when covid hit we both lost our jobs and had more time to dedicate to our business. We launched in March 2020 and have continued to evolve since.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been easy. It’s been a lot to learn business-wise and it’s taken a lot of faith. We both weren’t working full-time when we first launched so we had to trust the process. Now, we both also work full-time jobs so we’ve had to learn to juggle being full-time employees and full-time business owners.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Scented Gems, we create handmade crystal-embedded candles, soaps, bath bombs and bath salts. All of our products are made with love and intention and are infused with Reiki energy. Every item has a healing crystal embedded on the inside for customers to have a healing stone to keep as their own. These healing crystals can be used as palm stones, kept in pockets or purses, placed in a safe space in homes, etc. Every item has a specific intention due to the natural healing abilities of the crystals. Our labels list some of the properties of the crystals so our customers can decide exactly what kind of energy they need in life at that time. Smoke & water further enhance healing crystal properties, which is why we combined healing crystals with our natural products.

We are SO proud of all that we have accomplished over the past few years. This was a passion project we talked about almost three years ago. We then took the time to perfect our recipes and have been in business for over a year now. We receive the most feedback from our candles, our customers share they don’t even have to burn their candles in order for the scent to envelope the room. Some use them just as home décor and take the lids off to have the scent disperse. We also receive wonderful feedback about our bath bombs. Kids especially love the bath bombs because the fizz and bubbles are so fun, plus they get to keep the surprise inside afterwards (the crystal)!
