Rising Stars: Meet Andre Cisco II

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Cisco II.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I think I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I remember getting scolded as a child for going door to door without permission and selling handmade bracelets tied to peppermints sourced from my grandma’s candy dish.

I think that spirit continued to grow through my formative years and led to me teaming up with a few friends in college to start a concert promotion company. We quickly grew and produced very large concerts and festivals in Ohio.

Through that venture, I leaned more into music, branding and event production and began to carve out a boutique business for myself working with some pretty reputable clients and brands.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t call it a smooth road but it has definitely been a fulfilling journey thus far in retrospect.

Some of my biggest struggles had to do with keeping myself mentally in the game when I didn’t necessarily know where my next “paycheck” was coming from or when my business wasn’t growing as fast as I thought it should be. I always knew where I would end up but it didn’t always look promising. I had to learn not to focus on money or speed but to operate in my purpose/passion and focus on direction.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I consider my field of work creative management. I think my skill set lies in the intersection between artistic expression and business. I work with clients/brands to turn new and existing ideas into thought-provoking content, products and experiences.

My first client was Machine Gun Kelly and I am super proud of how far that brand and business has come. As a management team, we’ve been able to stay relevant and continually scale and reinvented the brand.

I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to look at the world and business from various perspectives and translate art to the masses.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think one characteristic that you have to have is the ability to detach yourself from the results of whatever it is that you’re going after and just focus on what you can do to move toward that goal in the moment. You aren’t going to be able to control the roller coaster of entrepreneurship or business, all you can do is lean into the turns.
