Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Adams.
Valerie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my personal growth journey in 2018 and took my passion for helping people reach the greatest potential of their lives and started my coaching business toward the end of that year. Prior to that, I majorly struggled with low self-esteem, people pleasing, and living life as ‘checking the boxes’ and doing the “right thing”. I never thought it was possible to do anything different than what was laid out for me. The paradigm I had been raised in was college, then climb your way up the ladder and promotions equal success. I specifically created my business around supporting single women in attracting their dream partner because I believe that the person we involve ourselves with romantically has the capacity to enhance or take away from our energy and it’s very important to be clear on the type of partnership you want!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was not a smooth road to get here! For ten years, I struggled majorly with attracting emotionally unavailable men. I would go for the life of the party, guy with “‘potential” or guy who had his walls up because I enjoyed the feeling of “conquering”. What ended up being the case is that I found myself in toxic relationships or relationships where the person was completely disconnected. Of course, as I realize now, the emotionally unavailable men I attracted were there to hold up a mirror in the areas I was emotionally unavailable to myself. After going on my huge spiritual and personal development journey in 2018, I healed myself from childhood wounds and reprogrammed my mindset to only be available for a partner who would treat me like a Queen that I was completely compatible with – I met him! Starting my online coaching business required me to be willing to be seen and judged and take a huge risk by going all in on my dreams. It was so worth it but definitely wasn’t easy!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Master Coach & Master Practitioner of NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming). Currently, I work with single women who are ready to do the inner work to attract a healthy partnership. I support women through 1:1 private mentorship, group programs, and I have some digital courses as well. I am most proud of my ability to support women through getting to the root of their limiting beliefs and what holds them back and helping them use the tools to get on the other side. I pride myself in my approach of always leading you back to you!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned that no matter what you do, there’s always opportunity for somebody to judge you. You will be judged at your best, at your worst, and the awkward in-between when you’re trying to figure it out. Go after the things that light you up and trust that those meant to be on the journey with you will be walking alongside you!
