Conversations with Angela Durden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Durden.

Hi Angela, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began managing talent initially as a “mom-ager” for my daughter and her modeling career while running a mid to large size salon and spa full time. After 10+ years of owning my salon and spa, I decided it was time to sell. In 2016, 6 months after I sold my salon, I was lacking something in my life- celebrating the success of individuals. At that time, I decided that what really fed my soul was managing talent and the entertainment industry. I met with two companies- a talent agency and a management company. Both offered me a position within their company. I chose to work with Citizen Skull Productions/CSP Management, as I felt an instant connection and knew this would be my new home. Nothing can compare to the journey I am on with my talent. I feel I am exactly where I should be. I prefer to be on this side of the camera/screen and watch my talented clients shine and live the dream.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most recent challenge has been covid-19 and the industry shutdowns that happened along the way. While I was able to survive the multiple shutdowns, many of my clients were not, and packed their bags and left LA to go back home. It has been heartbreaking to see talented individual’s dreams shattered. Los Angeles is a difficult city to survive in the best of times, let alone hard times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an on-camera Talent Manager that works specifically with adult talent. I pride myself on the diversity of my talent list. I have always been interested in people from all walks of life, cultures, and backgrounds. I think that I connect with my clients on more than just a business relationship, I like to think we go a step further and are friends and in some cases, extended family.
