Life & Work with Ale Sosa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ale Sosa.

Hi Ale, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I always had a passion for art which is why I originally pursued a career in architecture. I worked as an architect for a couple of years until I decided to move to LA to pursue my singing career. During my free time, I would go on travel adventures where I would take pictures of all the beautiful places I would visit. This is when I realized I had a real passion for photography and began to take it seriously.

I figured that if I wanted to get serious about photography, I had to learn from the best. I was fortunate enough to begin working as an assistant to some of the biggest photographers in LA who I learnt so much from. From there, I started working as a photographer getting hired to shoot campaigns establishing a name for myself. After some time, I realized my real passion was shooting landscapes and creating my own fine art pieces. I gathered some of my best pieces and held multiple art exhibitions around LA where I displayed and sold my work to the public. As of now, I am in the middle of opening my own art studio where I can create and collaborate with different artists. This space will also convert into an art gallery where I can showcase my work and hold monthly exhibitions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! When I first moved to LA, I didn’t know many people in the industry or much about the art world. It was a new career path to where I was learning along the way. After years of working in the industry, I started pushing myself to put my work out there. As we all know, art isn’t as easy as just creating something and selling it. It took years of trial and error and finding my own style. Finding what makes my pieces unique.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I first started specializing in Landscape Photography. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world capturing beautiful moments. I got to a point where I wanted to create something more unique so that’s when I decided to begin making interventions to my own work. I started experimenting with resin, introducing different colors and patterns over my fine art pieces and realized I was onto something good, I started filming my process and putting snippets out onto social media. From there, my pieces grabbed a lot of attention and had many people interested in buying my work. I kept creating until I had a whole series of work to sell, some of those pieces can be seen on my website. Everything I do is created by me. From the canvas to the printing, to working with resin and the abstract paintings created over my prints. Every piece I create is one of a kind, The art picture may be the same but my artwork over it will always differ. This is what makes my work so unique. You will never get the exact same piece twice!

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is being able to live my life to the fullest. Creating and expressing myself and most importantly being able to inspire people through my artwork encouraging them to go out and explore the world. To find their passion and not be afraid to take risks and try new things. This is important because you discover things about yourself and new passions that you didn’t know you had. Who knows where it could lead you and how it could change your life!
