Meet Tonie Pimienta of Tonie Design (TADS) in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonie Pimienta.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tonie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always had an affinity for art. I was raised in Mexico City by my father, a graphic designer and my mother, a painter and educator, so I was always around it. However, it wasn’t until I moved to Los Angeles as an adult when I channeled this passion into a career in the interior design field.

I first earned my Interior Design degree from UCLA, while working with one of LA’s top designers. I also received my certification with ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) and CCIDC (California Council for Interior Design Certification).

I founded Tonie Design (TADS) in 2001 with the mission to provide my clients with a superior level of service and attention to detail that captures each of their unique lifestyle’s and personality’s. In 2009, Sacramento Magazine’s commended me for the unbelievable home I designed combining contemporary, modern style with an Asian flare.

I’ve been successful because of my strong appreciation for each individual’s style of living. I spend time with every client and create original designs based on their specific needs, while providing an outcome that is functional with their way of life. My designs always answer the client’s needs, which is often inspired by my exotic world travel and bilingual roots.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have to say, I cannot complain. I’ve managed to stay busy because my clientele is made up of predominately return business and referrals. It is a strong testament to my talent and work ethic, which I am very proud of.

However, when I was starting my business I was putting my three children through school, so it was a bit of a challenge to manage it all.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Tonie Design (TADS) story. Tell us more about the business.
