Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Knee.

After working as a Marketing Influencer in Lifestyle, Food & Wine for many years, Jamie decided she wanted to undertake more wine education. After attending, covering and promoting many local wine events, Jamie decided to get Wine certified. She took her WSET 2 Wine & Spirits Certification in 2018, Certified Specialist of Wine in 2019, Champagne Comité Certification in 2019, Napa Rocks Certification in 2020, and studied for and was chosen to be a Rioja Wine Educator in 2020, and recently sat for her WSET 3. She is a Wine & Spirits Judge for The Original Rosé Competition, The American Fine Wine Competition, and the Wine and Spirits Makers Competition. As Wine & Spirits Specialist, she hosts luncheons, tastings, education and works with many wine regions as an Ambassador at her brand “Petite Wine Traveler” @petitewinetraveler. Since the onset of Covid Jamie undertook taking her Wine Education Business on-line and has hosted over 80 IGTV Interviews & Tastings with Winemakers & Proprietors around the world, bringing the vast world of wine to consumers around the world. In 2020 after seeing how the California Central Coast Wineries, Santa Barbara County in particular was not getting the accolades that it deserves for its first-rate top quality wines, Jamie came up with the idea for a day to celebrate the wines of the California Central Coast and Founded “National California Central Coast Wine Day.” #centralcoastwineday. The inaugural event was a success and was celebrated on October 18, 2020 and will be held annually on the 3rd Sunday in October. The event was a success, with many wineries participating and offering special discounts and events for their patrons for the day.

Jamie recently took on the role of the Wine & Spirits Ambassador for “Endless West”, San Francisco promoting their molecular Glyph Whiskey across the US.

Jamie is frequently invited on Media Tours to Europe and California Wine Country to write about their respective regions. When not drinking or eating she is involved in the Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Miami Art Scene as a founding member of several art institutions. She is also a member of the International Women’s Hospitality group Les Dames d’ Escoffier LA/OC Chapter and Women of the Vine.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a bit of a struggle to transform my business to an on-line platform during Covid. But it has proved to be a very fruitful undertaking, as I was fortunate to meet (virtually) and collaborate with 80+ Winemakers and Proprietors all around the world.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am most proud that I was able to help the wine industry remain viable during these difficult times of social distancing, as well with many fires in wine regions. My virtual platform has allowed wineries to continue to bring their wines to their consumers on-line. I have worked on a pro-bono basis for many of the smaller struggling wineries to help them to share their wines with my viewers.

Additionally, being able to host a wine day specifically for the California Central Coast, I am proud to help showcase these underrated wineries and get their name out to the wine purchasing public.
