Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Huang and Denise Lengyeltoti.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Linda and Denise. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We launched Be Boldly in early April 2020, at the the height of COVID-19 pandemic. We got the idea to start our own company a couple of months prior when we realized we shared a similar dream to work for ourselves and to support people and brands we believe in.
Once the pandemic hit in early March, we made the decision to go after our dreams 110%. Within a month, we were operational and secured a couple of clients through word-of-mouth. Fast forward to now, we proudly represent a diverse group of clients spanning different industries from fintech and women’s health to real estate and more.
Has it been a smooth road?
This is the first time either of us has started a business and when you throw a pandemic into the mix, no doubt we’ve had our fair share of stressful situations. However, we truly see challenges as opportunities. With that mindset, coupled with the fact that we communicate all day, every day, we’ve made the best of the current situation. Some challenges we encountered early on surrounded branding and accounting.
Fortunately, we’ve got an amazing network of talented friends and acquaintances who were there to help us out. We learned to ask for help early on and we strongly recommend anyone else starting a business to do the same.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Be Boldly is a Los Angeles-based communications agency with a global reach. We specialize in media relations, partnerships, social media, writing services and event activations. We are passionate about what we do and, as our name suggests, we take a bold approach to developing and implementing creative campaigns that generate valuable coverage and support overarching goals.
We are proud of the quality of work we deliver for our clients. Everything we do is customized to them. We don’t do cookie-cutter work because PR is not a one-size-fits-all solution. We are committed to seeing our clients succeed.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Prior to COVID-19, the PR industry was going through changes due to shifts in the media landscape and technology impacting how and where people consume their news. With mass layoffs due to COVID, we are seeing an increase in freelance PR practitioners and new small to midsize PR agencies. Businesses who are rebuilding will be looking for nimble and more affordable agencies. We also think PR practitioners are going to have to further evolve their skill set to accommodate new social platforms, growth in podcasts and whatever else is yet to be built.
Also, there are new companies being created because of COVID, and while they might not need help immediately, there will likely be a PR need.
Additionally, the tourism industry, which is the world we came from, will likely pick back up in 2021 (depending on COVID). If that’s the case, there will certainly be a lot of buzz around travel.
