Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Hall.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started when I was about nine years old I began making music on a karaoke machine and a tape recorder. I would sing songs on the radio and my sister would perform with me in our room. From there, we started to try and make songs ourselves and created a group name called “Tbreeze and Gurdy”.
I kept developing myself writing songs and watching performances until I was ready myself. My first performance was at the age of seventeen at the “Calabash” in Portland, Oregon. I entered contests left and right, which helped me not to be afraid of crowds. My first streaming site was Reverbnation which allowed my music to be available to anyone, this gave me a new confidence to create more.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh no, things weren’t easy, there has been multiple times I have wanted to quit and just not do it anymore, but I kept going. All of the challenges have brought me to successes that were surprises along the way. Challenges came from creating, challenges with places I have performed at because I am a female. People trying to discourage me from being myself and challenges came from people wanting me to be a cookie cutter artist.
Please tell us about Kidd Fresh.
My company is based around me being an artist and performer. I offer all things merchandise and entertainment. I am known for rocking the house and being a multiple threat in music, Rap /R&B /dance/songwriting are all skills I work to perfect. I am most proud of my company because I am the one building it myself, I wanted to do everything myself and be independent. What sets me apart is that I am a female artist from the Northwest doing things for myself. I started like most local artists but I make moves different so that I stand out in the sea of artists, nothing I have created is expected or lack luster.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has not played a part at all, I call it blessed for every opportunity I have been given. I also must say hard work has also been the major part of this because I have had to be ready for everything, get up, and get out there, make the connections and move the crowds.
