Meet William Co of Cokreeate in Alhambra

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Co.

William, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Cokreeate was established and started because of my interest and hobby of 3D printing. I used to work for a company that was starting to use 3D printing for prototyping. I started to learn more about the technology and its amazing capabilities. I bought my first 3D printer on 2012 from Deezmaker, and started printing random 3D models for fun. On early 2013, my passion for business and 3D printing grew and my wife, Jewelyn Co, persuaded me to start a business. We decided to invest our money into starting a 3D printing business, and bought a 3D scanner and a few 3D printers. Her and I pushed ourselves in learning and building this business together. Everything that we have learned about 3D printing were self-taught and based on experiences as there were no schools or places you can go to learn 3d printing. This is also the reason why we want and enjoy educating about 3D printing. Many people are still not aware or understand what 3D printing is, and we would like to continue to educate and expose the capabilities of 3D printing. We started to attend conventions and local events for marketing and promoting the industry of 3D printing. We were able to save enough money to open a retail store/studio on 2014 in our hometown Alhambra, CA. We built a team of talents to be a part of Cokreeate, and our team continues to grow. Marketing in social medias and local medias were a big help for us to get our message out there. We have met many supportive people that we kept great relationships with. They have also helped us grow and get to where we are now. We greatly appreciate all the supports we get from our families, friends, team members, and fans because they have helped us gain the confidence to keep and continuing to do what we want to do in this industry.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey in building Cokreeate has been a great experience. It was not smooth road because there were struggles in education, financial, and hard work along the way. Many hours and days were put in learning about the technology of 3D printing. We have many trials and errors, successful, and unsuccessful moments. Everything that we know about 3D printing were self-taught. We are still and continuing to learn about this industry; its technology and development, methods, and process. We have also invested a great amount of money in this business. The costs of equipment, materials, and rent all adds up. We have put a lot of our hard-working hours in making and developing our products. There were sacrifices we have to make to keep building our business. We wouldn’t want to give up now because we have invested so much in this. The struggle is real, but we know that it will all be worth it.

Cokreeate – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Cokreeate is a one stop shop for 3D scanning and 3D printing needs. We specialize in 3D scanning, 3D printing, and digital 3D modeling. We offer services on 3D scanning and 3D printing for any prototyping, reverse engineering, and industrial or personal use. We also offer digital 3D modeling for creating 3D models to print. We retail 3D scanners, 3D printers and materials, and 3D printed products. We are known for creating 3D printed mini figurines of people, and 3D extruded photographs. I am most proud of our accomplishments that we have achieved in such a short span of time. I am proud to be a part of a great revolution in this 3D printing industry, and making a difference. I actually cannot say that we are different from others who are in this industry because this industry has a very small niche. There are companies who offers similar services as we do. The only thing that we can say that sets us apart is the quality of our products because we give an extra secret touch to our process. We are company that you would want to visit when you are in Los Angeles; to get a mini 3D printed figurine souvenir.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally can define success as something that can be achieved through persistence and hard work. Being successful means that you have achieved what you have struggled over and over for. When you are passionate about your goals, the road to success can be enjoyable. You have become successful when you see that you have made a difference and change. Whether or not you are making a lot of money, you are successful when you can afford to make sacrifices and go through struggles again to complete another goal.
