Meet Beverly Hills Hairstylist: Joe Bruno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Bruno.

Joe, please share your story with us.  How did you get to where you are today?

The time had finally come to open my own barber shop. I have always enjoyed working with people to make them feel their best. The friendship that occurs between barber and client is amazing, hopefully enriching each other’s lives. With over a decade of hair experience, combined with my creativity, attention to detail, love of music and affinity for animals, Bruno’s Chop Shop is the culmination of my life’s work thus far. My experience cutting hair, combined with shaving and facial hair grooming, has permitted me to create a calm, cool environment to pamper you.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to expand my brand. I would like to create my own product line for men:pomade, clay, paste and thickening tonic. I would also like to become a platform artist and educator/brand rep. This is actually happening for me now. I was recently hired by Label M product line to do that. My shop is at a place that I love right now. A single seat shop that is more like a private studio/boutique.

Do you ever just stop and think WOW – I’ve made it?

I did have a moment when I though…. wow I really did this and this really worked. It was about 6-7 months into my new Barbershop that I looked at my booking schedule and it was completely filled. I actually had a waiting list. That continues today…. My weeks generally fill up (I work 5 days a week) I continue to get new clients by either referral or by yelp reviews. I have done events and benefits and have donated my skills to different organizations. I love what I do….and I am constantly trying to improve my craft.
