Today we’d like to introduce you to Camilla Moen.
Camilla, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It all started with some sketches and a dream. I have always lived a creative life. Snowdeer Jewelry was born at a very dark time of my life. I felt stuck. I didn’t know my purpose in life. So one night before I went to bed, I asked myself; “What is my mission in life?” I dreamt about my old sketchbook, and some of my designs had a circle around them. When I woke up that morning I actually remembered my dream, which is something I never do. I decided to take this as a sign. This might sound a bit crazy, which it might actually be. But this to me was a wakeup call.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth journey to where we are now. The hardest struggle was to overcome limiting beliefs and the limiting beliefs from others. The creative path is never an easy path, but as long as you make a plan, and build yourself up, anything is possible. They say if you can think it, you can also do it, and I think this is very true. You also have to become very patient and remember to celebrate every little victory on your path.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Snowdeer Jewelry – what should we know?
Snowdeer Jewelry is a modern and contemporary Jewelry brand, which is created ethically in the USA. Snowdeer Jewelry is inspired by the minimalistic Nordic Style.
We focus on timeless and meaningful designs that are mostly unisex. Our mission is to inspire people on their journey in life.
What sets us apart from other businesses is that we create each of our Jewelry pieces, especially for each customer. When our customers purchase from us they can decide themselves which material they want their Jewelry in. We offer a wide range of materials, like polished Silver, polished Brass, 14k plated Gold, 14 k plated Rose Gold, and many more. We are a small business, and our Jewelry is 3D printed Fair Trade, in the USA.
We also just launched our first pair of earrings, the triangle earring set.
“Be a triangle in a world of circles”. The meaning of these earrings is to inspire people to be themselves. In this world, we often want to blend in and to be accepted, but these earrings are a reminder that you are born to be you, and not anyone else.
We are also working on adding clay jewelry to our line very soon. We are very excited to see what the future holds, and we hope that you come along on the journey.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
To be successful you have to believe in yourself. You have to have passion for what you do because without passion you will give up when things get hard.
You have to always keep learning. You have to have a strong will. You have to have faith and you have to have a plan.
