Meet Charisma and Calvin Dixon from Downtown LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charisma and Calvin Dixon.

Charisma and Calvin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up singing in church with my brother Cal, that’s how it all started. Ever since I was a little girl, I grew up listening to Michael Jackson, The Bee Gees, ABBA, George Michael. All of the greats and Christian music. Over the years, my passion and hunger for music kept growing, and I thought this is what I wanted to do. At 14, was when I went to my first studio recording session for my Gospel album. At 16, I moved out here to LA, with my brother Cal and ever since we have been grinding and hustling & fighting for what we are passionate about.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think when we are fighting to achieve what you really want, there is always a struggle especially coming from another country. Finally, we realized that we had to move like everything was already happening in our favor to achieve what we were set to do.

Please tell our readers more, for example what are known for?
The approach to the soulful music and catchy melodies is what we really are focused on drawing people towards are brand. Cal writes the melodies and we join in the lyrics. We have some talented producers who help us finish the process and take the song to another level.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Los Angeles has been great !! There is many creatives that we meet who are from different countries and have the same drive and vision. Sometimes L.A does get a little expensive that would be the only thing.
