Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Halstead.
Thomas, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my creative Life as a dancer in Philadelphia. I move to New York graduated Juilliard dance my way around the world all the while interested in art and architecture. I move to Los Angeles to dance in film and on television after which I re-educated myself at Santa Monica College for interior design. I opened my business in 2012 and it has been going pretty well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Transitioning from being a professional dancer to the interior design world was not an easy transition. Interior design world as a really hard nut to crack because you were dealing with high-end clients that expect the absolute best. This is what I deliver. The nutshell to crack is meeting those clients, which is key in conjunction with good design ideas and the ability to implement them.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Thomas Halstead Designs – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a small interior design company that specializes in the happiness of my clients. That could mean anything from a color consultation to maintaining their home, A1 room remodel, a complete remodel or ground up. Whatever the task I work very closely with my client to ensure they are getting exactly what they want and need for their lifestyle.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
There isn’t any big change in the plans at the moment. I am looking forward to working with new clients creating new beautiful spaces whether their homes offices or exterior spaces.
